So I changed my address and send them emails but their response was:

"Thanks for letting us know, you are on a waitlist and will be scheduled an interview as soon as possible"

I still haven't gotten the 3 options. I'm really worried but will have to wait and see if anyone else here can get an interview before me

How annoying. Let’s hope the waitlist is just a k1 thing and they’ll schedule an interview soon.

You don’t need a date. Getting a permit to cross will not mean the consulate will schedule an interview.

best bet is to move to another state.

Hi Zochu, yes its looking that way. The frustrating part is they will not just be open and say they are not processing Victoria, they say nothing adding to the stress. As for moving, yes I am looking at that too, have applied to the SA border for a pass as I only live a short drive from there and was initially from SA. All we can do for now is keep chipping away and hope something finally gives. Does not help my wife though who I have not seen since Feb.

Hubby is now with me in the States! For those with or having a LAX POE, the immigration process was about 5 minutes long. Customs was also quick minus a delay due to the baggage carousel breaking down. Wishing everyone speedy interviews and safe travels! The planes were all booked to capacity so there wasn't any social distancing, which was not ideal, but he made it here!

Congrats, great to hear some positive news. Best wishes for your future 🙏

I couldnt open that link so maybe you succeeded in taking it down. What was it that you received? I only received the short acceptance email from NVC.

He got an email that said his original interview was cancelled and they would contact soon to schedule a visa interview.

Ah yeah I did get that email too. I remember reading further back in this thread that the same happened to others (an interview that was never made got cancelled) but then  scheduled soon after

I got my expedited request approved around August 14th. So all my file got sent to Syndey right away. But it looks like the interview is quite some time away as the borders are closed. I am in Melbourne.

yes

May I ask which email address did you send your expedite too? I see a few different ones ? The SydneyIV or the Support-Australia one ? Thank you 🙂 I hope the boarders open soon for you

Have you set up medical? Are you waiting til the appointment date is given to do medical.  I’m curious if it would be another week to get the appointment date or longer?

Hope that everyone is holding up alright! I was hoping someone might know how long it takes for the Consulate to schedule an interview post the NVC expediting it to the Sydney Consulate. We received the message below from the NVC last Thursday but haven't heard from the Sydney Consulate since then (we live in Sydney).

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in SYDNEY, ASTL approved your request for expedited processing of your immigrant visa application. The National Visa Center sent your immigrant visa application to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in SYDNEY, ASTL for their action. The Embassy/Consulate General will contact you soon to schedule a visa interview.

For anyone interested -- The Sydney Consulate reached out today to schedule the interview (12 days after NVC advised our case had been expedited).

1st June 2020 -> Paid AOS and IV fee via CEAC

1st July 2020 -> DS-261 and AOS submitted via CEAC

12th Aug 2020 -> Case Complete (Documentarily Qualified)

18th Aug 2020 -> Expedite Request Sent to NVC

11th Sept 2020 -> Expedite Request Approved

21st Sept 2020 -> Case received at Consulate

29th Sept 2020 -> Interview Appointment Email Received

When is your interview scheduled? We were told they weren't scheduling any until after October 1. DQ April 6, Expedite July 8, still being strung along as in Melbourne. Sept 27, 2019 case sent to NVC. One whole year ago!

They give these three options:

1 – Please schedule the next available appointment.

2 – I am unable to attend an interview due to COVID-19 restrictions in my State or Territory. I will contact you for an appointment as soon as I can attend.

3 – I am not yet ready to attend an interview, I will contact your office 2 months prior to when I hope to have an interview scheduled. I understand this may be longer due to the effect of COVID -19 on scheduling availability.
