Which state your husband from ? Also how he got exception to cross the borders?

thanks

Hi, Not that it really matters since Sydney is not responding to Victorians right now but my husband got permission to cross the border due to having to fulfil a legal requirement, that of attending his visa appointment in person, which is a legal requirement under US law.

Hi, great news about him getting permission to cross the border. I thought of trying this but as I cant get a date due to being in Victoria makes that one for me a bit hard to claim (But great info though).

To be clear, my husband doesn't have an appointment even though our request for an expedite was accepted by Sydney on July 8. The border crossing permission does not require a travel date and is good for 2 weeks. You would need to show proof of the appointment and the legal requirement at the airport. Victoria has no restrictions on travel to NSW. None of this matters as the Sydney Consulate won't listen to us and schedule an appointment. We have been married 27 years and now separated for nearly 7 months, by far the longest time in our marriage. I am concerned about my husband's health. We are in our 60s.

Have you changed your address with the NVC in your visa application?

I would call them. Email them. Anything to get them change your location.

otherwise you’ll join a long wait for Victorians that are unable to be scheduled.

So I changed my address and send them emails but their response was:

"Thanks for letting us know, you are on a waitlist and will be scheduled an interview as soon as possible"

I still haven't gotten the 3 options. I'm really worried but will have to wait and see if anyone else here can get an interview before me

Thanks for the info, I have placed a request to expedite but not heard back yet. Interesting though as I understand the NSW border to Vic is still closed? We have been married coming no 5 years and in the same type age bracket. I too am worried about my wife as she is alone in Texas and has been since Feb this year. Our case was DM approved back in May. Fingers crossed you get somewhere soon.

That’s so sad. So even he has got a travel permission and approved expedite, they didn’t schedule any appointment for him yet??

hopefully you see him soon 😊

He got approval last night. He emailed the consulate to see if he can get the earliest appointment available! SO grateful for this forum!

Same again! I got my expedite approval yesterday as well! Expedite request September 9, under review September 16, expedite approved September 24! Guessing that the next thing to happen will be receive the email from the consulate with the three options for scheduling interview. How long did people take to hear from the consulate or did u email them first?

I couldnt open that link so maybe you succeeded in taking it down. What was it that you received? I only received the short acceptance email from NVC.

I had been waiting since March (case at consulate) and had been placed on the waitlist for a K1 visa interview. I was issued an interview date for the 15th of September 2 weeks before the interview. There were a lot of K1 visa appointments that day at least 6 people came in including myself. You have nothing to worry about it's just a matter of time before you get issued an appointment. They are not issuing interviews to far ahead of time (2 weeks ahead) so just hang in there they have a lot of people to get through.

You don’t need a date. Getting a permit to cross will not mean the consulate will schedule an interview.

best bet is to move to another state.
