Just got word that the NVC expedite is being reviewed! This has been a long journey for my friend and her husband they have been separated for over a year. Process for the Green Card has been over 2 years. Now we wait and hope to hear back with good news that the expedite has been approved. They filed under emotional hardship. All the approvals on this forum have been very encouraging. Look forward to having him join the approval crew!

Patty I just got my expedite approval today! Submitted on 31/8, received notice on 5/9 and approved 17/9 so 17 days total it seems to be taking them. I'm sure yours will come soon!

Hi @aus2tx  congratulations on getting your Visa.  Could you keep us informed about the travel exemption?  Do you know if any immigrant travel exemption requests are being declined?   It seems getting the expedite and interview is only part of the stressful process.  Next comes the travel exemption and flight bookings!!!

We got an approval to leave like within 24 hours. Super quick and easy, especially with the consulate letter

Hi all, I’m new to this forum but unfortunately not new to the IR 1 process as we started it Dec 31, 2018. Married August 7, 1993. Two adult children who are dual US/ Aus citizens. DQ April 6, 2020. Interview expedite approved July 8, 2020. Sydney is insisting that due to Covid my husband can not cross the border into NSW for his interview so they are not scheduling him an interview. He just went online tonight and was granted a permit to cross the border to satisfy a legal requirement, as it is a legal requirement under US law that an interview is held in person. It is just about a year ago now since uscis approved our petition. This current situation is affecting us both mentally and emotionally as I moved to the US to get us set up in March. How many interstaters are waiting on Sydney to open up?

Morning All,

I attended my interview on Tuesday (01/09) and was granted my IR1 visa. They took my passport and advise it would be back with me in around 2-3 weeks. I was not advised I needed to provide anything further.

I just logged into CEAC to check the status and it currently states Administrative Processing. Does this simply mean they are preparing my Visa or should I be concerned?

It was previously showing as Ready

As always, thanks for any advice.

Dan

Hey Dan!!

just wondering how long you were held in AP for assuming your status on CEAC has turned to ISSUED by now? I’m in AP as of the 15th September, but as naturally getting worried as I’ve seen a lot of people say their AP took less than 24 hours 😬

Jade :)

Hey everyone

I just noticed my noa2 is going to reach it’s ‘valid to date’ in a couple of weeks time and my case status is ‘at nvc’ do I need to contact the embassy to get it extended, the nvc or does it automatically happen?

cheers legends.

mine went from refused to administrative processing and then issued.

i assume yours will do the same.

Hi @zochu, are you saying your CEAC statracker site said refused?? I just went on this morning and saw refused and I'm having a heart attack - but it sounds like this is normal??

Actually this question goes to everyone who's checked the StatTracker before - I never looked at it before today. And seeing "Refused - a US Consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application" is giving me heart palpitations... It seems from this thread that's normal before the interview? If you're approved at the interview it will change to processing and issued??

Mine is sitting as "Refused" but that is because they are waiting for my police cert to be sent to them in the mail. I was told on the day of my interview that it was an approval so long as they recieve the poilice cert, I asume as soon as they recieve my police cert it will move to AP. If you are worried maybe try sending them an email or call them just to check and be sure.

yes so consulate will either issue or refuse. If you’re missing documents it’s considered “refused” regardless if they approved it on the day.

if you are missing documents it’ll go to refused.

once they get the all the documents they will put you in admin processing. This is where they print the visa, once visa is printed it will say “issued”.

took around 1-2 days from admin processing to issued.

So exciting! Please keep me updated!

Do any of you know how the medical works once the appointment has been made. Does the Consulate give you a list of doctors? Cost information?
