This new's makes me so ###### happy, even if I'm in stuck in Victoria pulling my hair out.

It's fantastic to see interviews are starting to happen! Congratulations to those getting interviews and getting approved!

We finally got an interview date! After the "we'll see you tomorrow" fiasco on Monday, we didn't hear anything until today which was worrying us as we worried they would punish us for "missing" the interview they never told us about. But we got the date we asked for as well - end of September.

Our plan is for my husband to go to Sydney with all of his stuff so that he can leave straight from there and not do quarantine going back to Qld after - save time and money.

Those who have had their interviews and have flights like @zochu - what exemption is it you need to be able to leave? And I think you guys said that got granted pretty quickly?

I applied under compassionate and humanitarian grounds to leave Australia.

it took 12 hours for it be granted. I supplied about 10-15 documents as evidence too.

They requested our 2019 taxes (mine and my sponsor's), our assets, and tax transcripts. Then they asked us for birth certificates and marriage license. (We still can't figure out why they asked for those since those are some of the first documents uploaded)

Hmm that counter to what the Travel.state.gov website and a correspondance I received from from Sydney consulate states - so confusing!

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview.html

'You do not need to bring your Affidavit of Support or financial evidence you submitted to NVC.'

I also emailed Sydney consulate asking them to confirm that petitioner's original birth cert is only required for IR5 and F4 visa type interviews (and so not applicable for my CR1 case) -which is per 'Document Cover Sheet here (https://au.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/family-based-immigration/the-interview/) -(because my wife (the petitioner)'s original birth cert is still in Texas.)  In typical bureaucratic fashion, the response was not as conclusive as I would have liked. Their response was 'If the documents are not applicable to your case, then you do not need to submit the listed document.'

Sounds like I should get my wive's birth cert express posted now just in case before USPS gets slammed with election mail 😕

I would listen to what the consulate has stated they wanted as opposed to DoS.

Consulate also wanted 2019 tax and financials from me too, which I provided.

Morning All,

I attended my interview on Tuesday (01/09) and was granted my IR1 visa. They took my passport and advise it would be back with me in around 2-3 weeks. I was not advised I needed to provide anything further.

I just logged into CEAC to check the status and it currently states Administrative Processing. Does this simply mean they are preparing my Visa or should I be concerned?

It was previously showing as Ready

As always, thanks for any advice.

admin processing means they are printing your visa.

once printed, it’ll turn to “issued”

don’t be concerned
