Dont know. Probably .. the clinic itself would be open .. it’s getting through the VicPol roadblocks and roving check points .. including checks on VLine passengers.. to ensure they have a valid reason for entering the greater Melbourne area ... or travelling further than 5 km if you live in the greater Melbourne area

Yeh, I’m not sure. Going interstate for a visa doesn’t fall under the 4 permitted reasons to leave home.

Lol if you have to pay for additional accomodation in Sydney, post quarantine it’s likley to cost you at lease $100 p/n..Sydney ain’t cheap unless you plan on staying in a backpackers or in the suburbs..  it’s not like you’re going to be able to go get your medical done and go do interview while in quarantine or on the same day right after getting out of the quarantine hotel..

omg you were talking about the money - I thought we had to wait another 100 days for the medical to get to the consulate lmfao

I would just submit an expedite request. They seem to be approving all for an expedite!

I'm more worried about entering NSW and being denied entry, then having to quarantine for 2 weeks for $2800... it's so crazy 😥

Has anyone got any info for flying out of Brisbane into Sydney for the interview?

Do you still have to quarantine if you are only there for 48 hours?

What was the procedure if you went?

If you’re from Melbourne(Victoria) then going to NSW for a visa interview isn’t going to happen. They have broaden the interpretation/definition of what a “legal obligation” is, so you won’t be able to enter under that.

I am unaware of any other option someone could use to enter NSW to go get a visa.

my recommendation is, if you’re from vic - do not enter nsw at the moment

yes, you still have to quarantine in Sydney in a hotel they have designated.

when is your interview? You will also need to quarantine when you go back to QLD at your own expense

I'm going in from Brisbane (QLD)... so I wasn't sure what's going on regarding us being able to enter/exit.

So I would have to do 2 lots of quarantine? At 2 weeks  each? $2800 each time?

yes, two lots of quarantine.

unsure what price is for QLD, but if you’re in Sydney for MORE than 48hrs it’s $3,200. Otherwise, less than 48hr in Sydney - there is no charge.

Oh right... yeah I would definately not even WANT to leave my hotel except to go to the consulate. I'll be in and out as soon as i can. Not messing about there.

I would fly in and out on the same day if I could.

Annoying that I would have to quarantine when I get back into QLD... but I understand it. Just seems to quarantine for 2 weeks for $2800 when my stay would have been so much less than that haha

@MissOphelia I'm will aslo be flying out of Brisbane to Sydney for K1 Visa (when they actually Issue interviews). Hoping it can be a day trip!

From my understanding people from QLD entering NSW do not need to quarantine in NSW but you will when entering back into QLD (Under the current situation of All of NSW being a Covid Hot-Spot). The QLD government may lift this declaration if cases drop again before you are due to travel there, Which I am hoping will be the case by the time I am issued with an interview.
From what I am reading you are only required to quarantine in NSW if you have been in VIC in the last 14 or are an inbound international traveler and your port of entry is Sydney. But I could be wrong!

I found the information here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/what-you-can-and-cant-do-under-rules/border-restrictions

Yes, I think it’s for VIC only. That’s good news (for non-Victorians). Do people entering QLD have to quarantine still then? I got the idea that anyone flying into qld had to quarantine at their own expense.... which is crazy

Yes, anyone entering QLD must quarantine including QLD residents at their own cost, they do have payment plans as well as ways to waive the cost such as financial hardship.

It should be waived for anyone who has to travel for services like visiting the consulate I reckon.  It isn't our fault that they only do K-visas in one place... I'd happily travel to the Perth consulate if they did the interviews there.
