Has anyone had any kind of communication with Sydney that hasn't been from expedited paperwork?

After 27 months going through this process, it's hard to stay positive about any part of the process anymore. I'm sure you all also get that feeling like it's never going to end...

@zochu after reading your whole journey on this thread, I am keeping all fingers/toes crossed for your co-sponsor! I've been away from my husband for about as long, but I can only imagine with a baby it's 100x worse! Really really hoping for you guys to be approved soon!

Have you submitted an expedite request? Nothing to lose imo, especially since it’s been over 2 years for you

In my email, the consulate is allowing reschedules and delays due to Covid and personal reasons.

Thank you for that info! It's making me think it might be worth getting an expedite request in motion even if I'm stuck in VIC at the moment. I know it would already take a while between an expedite approval and an interview (approx a month from what I am seeing with other people's experiences). And if they are allowing people to delay scheduling the interview due to border issues, it might be worth applying before the 6 week lockdown in VIC is up (of course the border might still be closed, but we shall see I guess). The stress of not being able to get over there and help my partner when he needs it is taking its toll.

with over 800 infected Melbournians out and about when they should be isolating I think stage 4 is here to stay for awhile ...

I would encourage ANYONE to apply for a expedite request.

we used “emotional hardship” and based it on my husband being away from me and our daughter who is 1.

I definitely think I'll put in an expedite - I think someone a couple pages past mentioned emotional distress? I feel like that seems a good reason!

Yes we got a lawyer that only cost 150, the dr cost 850. We submitted based on my wife’s anxiety and depression being away etc. we got approved I am currently in the US. I think the whole process took about 4 weeks from expedite medical , interview and passport. Good luck with e started back in October 2018, sounds like you are longer. Hope you are ok.

Thank you for this. And thank you for the encouragement. I will work on drafting something. Are there specific set categories we need to select from for an expedite request?

Thank you so much. Yesterday I felt very broken (bad news keeps piling on top of bad news and it was like the straw that broke the camel's back). This has made me feel more positive this morning. Thank you. I really appreciate the huge amount of support and advice offered by people here.

Yes, life’s a bit tough at the moment. My husbands favourite quote which I love:

”calm seas never made a good sailor”.

We didn’t use a lawyer to write it and we didn’t supply any evidence. Just described our circumstances.
