Hey chy28 curious when you received the DQ confirmation?

I am awaiting an EB based interview in Montreal Canada (have both Aussie and Canadian passports) - I was DQ'd in June last year - and have heard recently there is a 2 year turn around for EB interviews being scheduled by the NVC in Montreal. Thinking of transferring to an Australian based consulate but sounds like it might be out of the frying pan into the frier. Have been avoiding AOS as travel is important, but might be my best route.

Thanks for the info and good luck!

Unless you are already in the US on another status, you can't do AOS anyway.

Australia is currently quicker than Montreal so if you'll be resident in Australia, it would be worth transferring your case there if you can. But Montreal is speeding up, it's now less than 2 years for EB applicants.

Good luck.

Her PD is the crucial bit of info. Looks like she’s applied under F2B? So if her PD is 2020 she’s still got many years to go

I was DQed in July 2023, but my priority date only became current this year in late January 2024. Then received the very first sixty-day reminder email from NVC in January 2024. Called the consulate last week, the operator said they do not have any update and only NVC can update me through email :(

How's it looking mate? I think from what I gathered, it looks like interviews are scheduled around 13-14 months after DQ

Hi Chy8,

I was wondering if you have received your IL from the US Consulate in Sydney yet?

I received EB1 approval on 21June 2024 and am waiting for the NVC welcome letter, etc.

I was wondering what timeline I should expect to have an interview.

Just to give an update for the people waiting for EB interview.

PD 09/22

DQ 02/23

Interview 04/24

All the consulate staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Be prepared and get all information used in your NVC, mainly the original of all documents and translation if required.

Hi

Can you share when you become current? was it Jan 2024?
