Just wondering if anyone has any updates on their CR1/IR1 cases into the New Year?

I've been DQ'd on 8th of Feb and just trying to get a rough idea of what sort of timeline we are looking at to get the interview.

I've been travelling back and forth to the US for the last 18 months on my B1/B2 visa on a 2 month rotation but unsure if I should go back for my next planned trip or wait it out down here. Last entry through CBP was tense and I was grilled pretty hard but avoided secondary inspection. Not sure I want to run the gauntlet again. I'm due to head back the end of April at this stage for a 5 week trip.

Also, does the priority date of your case play into where you sit in line for an interview. Say, if there are two people with the same DQ date, does the one with an earlier priority date get the interview first?

Hello! IR1 case here. We were DQ'd on Dec 5, 2022 and are still awaiting an interview date. A guy in the thread above said he was DQ'd in mid-October 2022 and heard about his interview date in early Feb 2023. The interviews appear to be taking place about 5 weeks after you hear from them about it. We estimate we'll have our interview at the earliest in April and latest in May so since you're about 2 months behind this timeline you can likely expect June or July for an interview date.

If you're not in it already, join the K-1 and CR-1 VISA Process for Aussies group on Facebook. He also gave me this tip and it's been very helpful in trying to suss out when you might be hearing about your interview date.

And I have no clue about the priority date but what you suggested sounds right. Hope this helps!

Thanks Ashley,

Looks like there's about a 5 month wait time at the moment from DQ to interview. Not ideal but not much else to do but wait!

We DQ’d  December 2022 and after filling in the forms today got an email to say that we are “on a wait list until more appointments are available” for my interview in Sydney . How painful, as I’m in Melbourne☹️

Not sure how long the wait lists is....I didn’t really understand what a priority date meant when they asked me for a date, but ours is September. Does that mean they are trying to get the interview done by September?

Also , can anyone tell me when I should be getting the police check and the medical?

should I wait until I’m Given an interview date?

not sure which way to go with this,

thanks In Advance

By any chance do you know where I can get timelines for EB visas?
My DQ was December 2022 but I haven't been contacted yet for the interview... 🥲

Hi Amylee

I am also waiting for interview for EB2. My DQ has just been released. From what I heard the current wait time should be around six to eight months. Would you please share the news when you receive your interview schedule?

Hi Kev,

Congrats on getting DQed. I've been wanting for around 5 months now but didn't hear back yet. I will post here if I receive any updates.

Where did you hear the 6-8 months? I don't know anyone who got it recently.... I guess the EB visas are not their priorities atm.

Thanks. From one of my friends who got the interview recently. He had to wait slightly more than a year but I think they have accelerated the process (the waiting time has been consistently decreasing since the reopening). I hope they send it soon to you. I don’t know about EB2 being their priority but my guess is there are a lot of EB2 cases in the queue. I am also surprised by realising that a lot of my friends with higher degrees have applied for this visa. My feeling is that the imposed lockdown hit some people hard and now those who can are trying to move to the US 😀

Simon, have you gotten an interview letter yet? Heard of a girl DQed in December that had a mid June interview.

No nothing yet. System still shows “At NVC” I imagine I’m a month or two away from hearing anything. Figure it’ll be an august interview making it almost exactly a 2 year process!

I'm not sure about the K-1 visa (I'm going for the IR-1) but for us, we needed to submit the police check as part of our documents that needed review and approval first, then they tell you the docs are approved and inform you the next step will be an email giving you the interview date. We got our email validating that we had all documents and the next step is the interview in December 2022 and are now waiting for that interview email.

Hi Ashley, I heard of an IR-1 with December DQ getting a letter this week, did you get an interview? 🤞🏼
