Hi everyone,

According to the latest update published on the consulate FB page, it seems that the interview date for employment visas did not move at all. Last time, apparently there were some information about some applicants who were invited for interviews on around June or July 2021. Do you have any updates on this? And also do you know if there is a FB group for people who are waiting for their employment visa interview in the US consulate Sydney?

Hello! I'm in the stage of having my DQ but waiting for an interview from Sydney Consulate. I'm just wondering if anyone who has recently received an interview letter can tell me how far out the interview date is from when you received the letter?? Thanks in advance.

@AshleyB I've just got my interview date (21st March 2023) and my DQ date was mid October 2022.

Hi Ashley,

I’m just wondering how you find out when your interview is! Do they email you or send you a letter through the post?

Iv’e just paid my fees and am now waiting to receive my interview date.

Do we need to get police check as well as medical before the interview?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer my questions,

Cheers.

Thanks so much for this helpful reply and the tip about the FB group!

When were you informed of your interview date, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm not sure about the K-1 visa (I'm going for the IR-1) but for us, we needed to submit the police check as part of our documents that needed review and approval first, then they tell you the docs are approved and inform you the next step will be an email giving you the interview date. We got our email validating that we had all documents and the next step is the interview in December 2022 and are now waiting for that interview email.

@Amylee Sydney is currently processing DQ January 2022. It may be 6-8 months before an interview depending on how quickly they progress.

Thanks for the info!

Is this for all type of immigration visas?

Cause the facebook post (on Sep 2022) of US consulate in Sydney had a longer wait time for employment visas 😣

Is there any groups i can join for EB2-NIW visas?

Many thanks

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any updates on their CR1/IR1 cases into the New Year?

I've been DQ'd on 8th of Feb and just trying to get a rough idea of what sort of timeline we are looking at to get the interview.

I've been travelling back and forth to the US for the last 18 months on my B1/B2 visa on a 2 month rotation but unsure if I should go back for my next planned trip or wait it out down here. Last entry through CBP was tense and I was grilled pretty hard but avoided secondary inspection. Not sure I want to run the gauntlet again. I'm due to head back the end of April at this stage for a 5 week trip.

Also, does the priority date of your case play into where you sit in line for an interview. Say, if there are two people with the same DQ date, does the one with an earlier priority date get the interview first?
