Hi Akma,

I’m in the same boat than you and still waiting. I filed in may 2020. I have no idea if I’ll get the green card this year. I don’t even know if I’ll get it next year tbh. I think my case is stuck at the nbc and there’s “nothing I can do but wait”. And wait for what? Wait so that the people that applied long after get treated first. I am so furious at this whole process. Soon my ead will run out and of course they don’t have that together either so you have to wait 10 month to put a service request in that will most likely be denied anyway.

I understand your frustration, we feel the same, my husband got his biometrics appointment in May, a year after applying, and EAD in June. That happened after we reached out to our congressman. We reached out again and asked for help with interview appointment, but they called us back and said “everyone is waiting”….
I’ve just checked processing times for Seattle changed from 24-28 to 10-24 months so according to this we should get our appointment by May 2022… that’s when my husband’s EAD will expire so we’re prying he doesn’t lose a job after then.

It is so frustrating. A whole year to get a work authorization is insane. It’s hard to live in the us on 1 income.

ah so no help the second time for the interview? Good lord.

that’s good news though that the processing time went down in Seattle by a few month. At this point you should also get the 10 year green card!!

Thank God I'm a nurse so I still have my job since Covid hit, but yes, it's not easy to live on one income in the US, and WA is an expensive state. My husband felt horrible as a man not being able to provide financially. But USCIS doesn't give a flying f*** about people like us.
Right, no help from the congressman's office about the interview. We do hope my husband gets a 10 year green card soon, since it's been such a long wait.

Yes I understand.. at least it’s good that you can provide with your income. But I feel him, I was walking around in a circle back when I didn’t have my ead. I don’t think my congress persons are interested in helping.. I tried 2 and they’re not calling back. Maybe my employer can help to renew my ead but I’m not sure how to do that either..

So we finally had our biometrics 3 weeks ago, yes, a year after applying! My husband's EAD+AP and SSN arrived on Monday. The case status changed to "Ready to be scheduled for interview". I've just checked the I-485 processing times for Seattle, 24-28.5 months, which means our interview should be somewhere between June-October 2022... I've heard they're also scheduling interviews for Washington residents in Portland, which has I-485 processing times of 13-23 months.
Anyone knows someone from WA who already had their interview scheduled?

Hi Akma, I'm the beneficiary and we're in WA state. We filed the AoS on Nov 2019, and after 2 years I got mail about interview scheduled next month Nov 2021. So yeah, it's pretty slow.

I think WA is the SLOWEST state, it’s ridiculous to wait TWO YEARS for an interview. Please update us afterwards and let us know if you got a 10 year green card, fingers crossed!

How did your interview go, Layne? Since you applied 2 years prior, did you get a 10-year GC?
We finally got the letter! Our interview is in January 2022 in Portland, OR, even though we live in Seattle, WA. We applied in June 2020.

Hi Akma! The interview went well, the lady was nice and warm. But before we got called in for interview, we had to wait for over an hour from the scheduled time. And then after the interview, my status changed to "Initial Review" that lasted for a month. I just got case approved last week, and got the card today. :)

Hey Guys,

I am still waiting for an interview at the Sacramento location and have a question regarding the combo card.

My Spouse's card will expire in April this coming year and I really don't think we will have an interview by then (Sacramento is currently processing applications from January 2019). I know I will have to re-do the I-765 and I-131 application and re-send along with a copy of the original receipt notice. Do I also need to mail in the combo card? Also, my understanding is that we can submit the renewal up to 4 months in advance of the expiration, is this correct? I would rather start the process in January than later if possible.

My current Timeline:

June 9, 2020 - Form I-130 filed electronically through USCIS.gov

June 10, 2020 - Form I-130 Accepted

June 11, 2020 - Form I-130 I-797 PDF available for download with priority date of June 9, 2020

You do not need to mail in the combo card.  Just the applications and the relevant supporting docs.  Yes, you can apply up to four months prior to expiration.

Thank you! I sent off the I-765 and I-131 renewal on 12/20 and just received the acceptance notices for both. So now the expiration has been automatically extended to October. Hopefully Sacramento has news soon.

After a million years, I finally have an update.

Got another RFE on 02/16/22. They wanted evidences of our shared life together. 🙄 My response was an inch-thick file of documents and photos. Status update of receipt on 03/25/22, said our case is on Initial Review. Initial review after almost 2 years, are you kidding me?! 😭

Then I got a text from USCIS earlier that I have a case status update. I thought it would be receipt of my EAD renewal that I sent last week. Turned out to be an AOS status update: New Card Is Being Produced🥳 So they approved our case without an interview!
