Our interview has been scheduled. I haven't gotten any notice for a medical, should I wait for the interview letter or should I go out and get one done? Any tips?

I used easyime - https://www.easyime.com/uscis-immigration-doctors-zipcode-20010 and it worked really well for me. I paid the price they quoted and it was easier than calling a bunch of civil surgeons. I brought my vaccination records and they only charged me for the bloodwork.

We are IR-5 will our son who petitioned for us be required to attend the interview?

I'm also IR-5 and I'm not sure if when I went for initial interview pre-Covid if my son's presence was required but he did come with me then and was allowed to attend the first half of that interview. I recently had my follow-up interview and my son was not allowed to go beyond the lobby area. Per the recent notice, I don't think he was supposed to accompany me:

(The above notice is not mine but the bullet points are the same. My interviews were at the San Francisco Field Office.)

I finished my interview today for family based AoS. It went well. At the end of the interview, the officer let us know that the i485 and i130 were both approved.

I had my interview today. We basically just went over the entire application and I got approved. Very easy and brief. I thank God.

Did they collect your passport or was it returned to you? I got approved too.

It was returned to me. I got my green card today. Exactly one week after my interview. Thank God it's over.

Good morning, everyone. I am new to this forum. I wish I could have seen this forum earlier, particularly about the biometrics issues (code 2 vs. code 3). Now I think I am stuck with my code 2 biometrics, which may be holding back my I-485 processing. I am wondering if anyone could share with me some thoughts and experience. Thank you

Here is my situation:

We filed family based AOS in early June 2020, and then got the biometrics appointment letter in Jan 2021. The biometrics appointment date was on Feb 4, 2021. They assigned me "code 2" for my I-485 and I-765 on that notice letter. I did not know that there is difference in code until I did the research online recently and found the discussions about this issue on visajourney. I totally did not pay attention to that code issue since I did not know the difference.  So I went to the biometrics at ASC on Feb 4, 2021, and they did the "code 2" biometrics and took my two thumb fingerprints only. After the biometrics, my online case status never updated to show my fingerprints were taken, it just stopped at "fingerprints fees were received". Now we realized that the no-update of my case status is because they never received my 10-fingerprints.

The next wired thing is on Feb 19, 2021, my online case status shows that "notice was returned to USCIS because the post office could not deliver it". We went to our local post office to check the returned notice in Feb. They were so kind to check with the postmen for our neibourghood and the supervisor, and told us there is no returned mail in Feb for our house. We also filed the service request online for the returned notice on USCIS online tools. But no reply by the expected reply date. Then we called USCIS and filed another service request through the agent. They just replied me last week telling me that they received my biometrics, and nothing in my case is pending/missing right now. They are processing my case within the normal time. They never replied us what the returned notice is about. We are so frustrated about what's going on.

I just got my combo EAD card this week. However, I checked the timeline on visajourney, which shows that at least 1 couple who had the biometrics on the same day as I did (FEB 4, 2021) already got their interview completed on April 1, 2021 in Tampa where we live. But there is still no update about my I-485/I-130. I think the lack of my 10-fingerprints biometrics could be the reason holding my case.

However, since the ASC no longer accepts walk-in biometrics, while the call center told me they don't miss anything on my case, we don't know what we should do right now to convince them to schedule a "code 3" biometrics with 10-fingerprints so that they can clear my background check and proceed to interview. Or anything else we can do at the moment to push my case forward.

Please help us. We really appreciate any sharing of your thoughts.

Thank you so much!

Hey Everyone,

I haven't updated here in a bit but finally have an update on the I-765 EAD and I-131 AP. Both have been approved and a new card is being produced. The I-485 is still in "Ready to schedule interview" stage but Sacramento California is known to take a long time so I am fully expecting up to 2 years wait. My spouse is just happy that she will be able to work and we can visit her family.

Also, it took me having to contact a Congressman to get movement. I Contacted my congressman regarding the case status for both I-131 and I-765 and maybe 2 hours later they reach out to me to advise they will reach out to USCIS. Later that evening, I got an update from USCIS that a new card is being produced for I-765 and today I got an email for both the I-131 and I-765 saying status changed to Approved. It seems that my case was ready to be approved but was just sitting there waiting for someone to actually touch the case.

Good luck everyone! Hopefully I will have an update on the greencard earlier than 2 years.

Hi guys, I was notify today that our interview was schedule! Our PD is June, 2020, and we are in San Diego, so I'm really surprised! I think our request to our congresswoman to look our k2 EAD/AP trigger something (I recieved my combo card since October 2020) cause just yesterday those forms were approved! I will let you guys know the date of the interview, in the mid time we will start gathering all the documents!

How funny! We're in San Diego, too, and my status changed today to interview scheduled! PD is mid June 2020 and I've been on 'ready to be scheduled' since August 2020! So exciting!

Keep us posted about your interview date! Sounds like we'll be around the same time.

Now to the real question: What documents are you all bringing to the interview? We filed with I-944, thankfully (hopefully) we don't have to bring those 300 pages worth of docs. But did you all bring copies of the filed forms (even though USCIS surely has all those)?

What are the odds?! We were ready since August too lol let me know your interview date too. I'm so glad to see San Diego moving.

Besides the basic documents like birth certificate, passport etc. We gonna bring the following let us know if enough or we can add or remove some:

Tax transcripts 2020 where we file marriaged jointly (should we bring 2019,2018?)

Statements of joint account

Proof of me and the kids being on my husband health insurance

Car insurance ( my husband, mom and I are on the same plan insurance)

Proof of me being the beneficiary of his life insurance and 401k

Lease of our apartment (this one has my maiden name, cause we signed it when we first move before marriage, hopefully not a problem either)

Documents of the new house we are buying (we are closing late June) loan is under my husband name but the title is under both of our names.

Photos of last year with all the special (and no so special) occasions of our life together. I'm just gonna print all the photos with the dates and name of the people on it, since I'm assuming they will keep those.

Hey Guys,

I have a question for the folks who received the EAD:

DId you also receive your SSN Card? If so, how long did that take?

We checked the box on the form to allow USCIS to release the information to SSA in order to generate a card but I have been reading online that USCIS does not always send this over.

I appreciate the help.
