A couple questions about documentation for interview.

Letter specifies "All documentation establishing your eligibility for lawful permanent residence status." I think this means marriage certificate and my husband's birth certificate showing he's a USC. Is that right?

Have people been taking copies and originals of all I-944 evidence to interviews? I should have made a copy of all that before filing. Reprinting 12 months of bank and credit card statements--yay!

Evidence of bona fide marriage that I have collected: Deed to our house with both our names, House insurance with both names, utility bills, credit card with me as authorized user, wedding album + recent photos, affidavits, and flaunting my baby bump.
Does that sound sufficient?

Thanks all! :)

March 2019: Married, Filed I-130 in April 2019

Biometrics Jan 7, 2021 (notice dated Dec 12, received Dec 22)
Case updated to 'Interview Scheduled' (Jan 19, 2021, received letter Jan 25)

Oh wow, Shan!  I just double checked in a panic, and we are still waiting for an interview.  Did you call and figure out what is going on?

Finally tier 2 called back and confirmed it is an error from their end. However, my status is still the same.

Had some updates recently regarding my EAD & AP so thought I'd share in case it helps anyone

1/5/21 Biometrics appointment

1/19/21 Received job offer so submitted expedite request based on financial loss through the Emma online chat on USCIS.com

1/27/21 Received email from USCIS requesting evidence

1/28/21 Faxed evidence to USCIS. Included:

  • Cover letter quickly summarizing my situation and listing out the evidence I was providing
  • Print out of the email USCIS sent me
  • New Job offer letter
  • Letter from July confirming my previous company was closing due to covid (This company also sponsored my visa so I've been unauthorized to work since)
  • Savings statement showing withdrawals over the past 6 months to cover living costs
  • Summary of medical insurance payments for the past 6 months (which would normally be covered by employer)

2/2/21 i-765 Status changed to Request For Additional Information Received

2/2/21 i-765 (EAD) Status changed to New Card Is Being Produced

2/3/21 i-765 (EAD) and i-131 (AP) Statuses changed to Case Was Approved

So grateful to finally see some movement after being unable to work since July, wishing everyone else luck.

Questions:

1) Has anyone else seen their EAD/AP status change from New Card Being Produced to Case was Approved? I would have though it would have been the be the other way around?

2) For anyone that has been lucky enough to receive their combo card already, how long did you have to wait after "case was approved" to actually receive your card?

London88, have you received your Combo Card?

We brought our marriage certificate, husband passport but they didn't ask to see them.

We didn't bring a copy of the i944 and all documents (honestly, I didn't make a copy) they didn't ask for that either

they just confirmed where my husband was working and how much he makes.

As for the evidence of bona fide marriage, he asked if we had a joint account that's all

Sounds like you have way enough , I wouldn't worry at all :)

I was finally able to add my Spouse to my health insurance without an SSN. I confirmed under exclusions of the EOC that immigration physicals are not excluded and even had the insurance company send me something in writing. Lastly, I was able to find a USCIS approved doctor and added them as a PCP for my Spouse and they agreed to only charge $200 to fill out the I-693 and everything else would be covered under my insurance which is fair since filling out the I-693 takes time which is not covered by the insurance. So I will have that out of the way.

For anyone still needing to do their immigration physical, reach out to your insurance to see if they specifically exclude immigration physicals. If they don't exclude it then you should be able to go in as a regular checkup and the vaccines and lab work would be covered.

So I was actually able to have the physical, blood work, and vaccines 100% covered and no charge for the paperwork. It's best to shop around.

Yesterday, 2/17, my spouse had her code 3 biometrics taken.

Today, 2/18, the status was updated to say "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

So this is it and now we wait for the interview. At least I know there won't be any further RFE.

January 29, 2021 - Biometrics notice received for the I-485 and I-765 dated for February 17. 2020 at 1pm

February 17, 2021 - Code 3 Biometrics taken for I-485 and I-765. Case updated to show biometrics applied to both I-485 and I-765 the same night.

February 18, 2021 - I-485 case status changed to "Ready to be scheduled for interview"

May 24, 2022 - AOS Interview Sacramento

May 26, 2022 - Status updated to "New Card is being produced" Green Card Approved.

*Packet was mailed without I-693 medical. Will wait for an RFE and take it to the interview. Also, tax transcripts were not available at the time so copies of the tax returns were sent and a cover letter explaining why.

**Included tax transcripts in RFE response since I was now able to gain access since sending the application.

Thanks. It seems hit and miss whether people have a short, simple interview or a long, intense one! 🤞Hoping we're near the end!! We switched from consular processing to AOS so I'm curious if the consulate has returned our file (I-130 petition) to USCIS yet (requested they do so in December, but we all know how quickly these things move). That could potentially delay our case. So, we'll see!

March 2019: Married, Filed I-130 in April 2019

AOS: Filed June 10, 2020, Received June 13, 2020, Cheque cashed July 16

NOAs July 24 (dated July 17) 2020
Biometrics Jan 7, 2021 (notice dated Dec 12, received Dec 22)
Case updated to 'Interview Scheduled' (Jan 19, 2021, received letter Jan 25)

February 24! Interview! New Card being produced!

Feb 25, 2021: Case approved.

Our is the same case. Didn't know we have to request to transfer I-130 to USCIS. I thought they do so on their own. How can you tell where your case is? On CEAS site, it still shows the case is at NVC, but our EAD/AP was approved for AOS case. Very confusing.

Im not sure. A lawyer we talked to said to request the consulate close out our file, which would include returning the file to USCIS.

I'll find out tomorrow if that happened or if USCIS needs to request it back!

You can notify NVC that you switched to AOS, then they won't forward your case to the consulate.
