Finally received an email from USCIS that they mailed a biometric appointment for my I-485.

Little Timeline;

ASC Biometric Service Request - Oct 20

I-131 Outside Normal Processing SR -  10/29

Tier 2 Request - 11/2

Called USCIS Telephone - 11/10 (Today)

Received Biometric Update Email- 11/10  (Today)

Any idea of how to print that biometric appointment. can't find any document section on my uscis online account.

Wish the best of luck anyone waiting the biometrics and rest of this nightmarish process. Keep the faith.

When I got the email I received my appointment letter after 5 natural days. The Tier 2 officer told me on the phone it could take up to 2 weeks to receive the appointment letter by mail. They don’t update the case status so we’re never going to be able to see the document online

Congratulations!!!

I put in a request for outside normal processing times and my wife got an email saying they are awaiting her appearance for a biometric appointment and our case is on hold until she shows up. It says they have entered her name into a system that schedules appointments. Just wondering if this is what’s supposed to happen and how long does it usually take to have the biometrics appointment ?? When we check our case status it says for the I-485 they received our rfe but no other update and I-131 and I-765 that they were received. Will the case status change soon too? I just don’t want the email we got to give us false hope. Any suggestions how to speed up the process to schedule an appointment?

thanks !!

Anyone knows what’s going on with biometrics appointments?
My husband came to the US on a K1 visa in February, we got married and sent out our I485 with AP and EAD end of May. Received I797 NoA in June and still waiting for that biometrics appointment letter. We called USCIS 3 weeks ago and they told us we’d receive a letter by end of October with appointment for November. Still nothing. Today we called again and this time they said they don’t know what to tell us, don’t know processing times or anything else. In the end they just told us to fill out the form on e-request.gov, which we did but what’s going on? I mean it’s been over 5 months since we applied and still nothing?! We’d like to go to Europe in March but without his AP we can’t even plan anything.

Same here, and same for many others too apparently... called USCIS many times, they only say to way, put a service request for biometrics and wait some more, put a service request for AP outside of normal processing time and wait ... it's frustrating but not much we can do unfortunately ..

So how can we get to a Tier 2 agent? I've only tried talking to Emma and an "information specialist"

Last time that's how it worked for me : got to talk to an agent through Emma on chat, ask that agent to talk to a tier 2 agent about my case, they took my info and told me I would get a call back within 7 days. After 7 days I got a call back (which didn't help, but they called at least.. )

If you have a pending service request though they might tell you to wait and won't put you through a tier 2 agent ..

I see. Thank you. I'll probably try after the 30 days from when I submitted a service request. Although based on people's posts, it looks like people are told to submit a new one.

Tier 2 Request - 11/2

What did you tell the Tier 2 agent to get them to send you a biometric appointment? We have also filed AOS with PD6/12 and our I-131 is out of processing time. We submitted a service request for this online, and we already have service requests open for no biometric 90 days after our local ASC opened.

A Tier 2 agent is scheduled to call us within the next 7 days, so any advice on how to say the right things to get them to send a biometric appointment would be helpful.

Same situation here. No biometrics, no rfe, nothing for almost 6 months now. We tried chatting with a support agent, but got nowhere. We’ve resigned to just keep waiting now without doing much else. With no indication that things are moving, my spouse’s life is in limbo due to not having any residency paperwork (can’t get drivers license, can’t work, can’t get in state tuition for education, can’t travel out of the country, etc), I’m wondering how much longer we should keep staking it out.

I was told I would get a call from Tier 2 agent within 7 days but never received any call so i called them & was told my service request will take 30 days and still 10 days to go and have to wait.that was the end of the call.

Then an hour later i received an email for biometric appointment notice.

FYI, my expedite request for EAD was denied back in August so i kinda gave up so it was great to see some movement after 6 months.

Good luck and keep the faith!

My service request was submitted 10/06 and 11/06 I called USCIS and they couldn’t respond to me why after 30 days I still don’t have responce. They requested Tier agent 2 call, so I am waiting tomorrow will be 5/7 days. Honestly I don’t care so much about their calls, just give me biometric notice and move in on my case! So, congratulations to you!😊
