So USPS informed delivery says we have mail from USCIS today but never received notification. I am hoping this is the biometrics notice as many say you do not receive notification for that.

I will update later today to confirm and update my timeline. I am in Sacramento California.

Hey Guys,

So it wasn't biometrics but it was the I-693 deficiency notice. At least this is a sign that my case is moving.

Question: Should I do the medical now or wait until I get the interview notice?

I would wait a little but all depend on how fast is your field office... I am in DC and I know my case gonna take forever

Yay I was surprised to but happy. No one can tell exactly why, you know the immigration process, It is different for everybody. A friend of mine is also the same ASC February filler but no biometrics yet. Hope they reach out to you soon. The only reason I could think mine is going little bit faster is the Lawrence office. They are in top 3 in the statistics for offices processing times.

I am adjusting from B2 but I have been in the States for 5 times ( over 3 years total living here) and I already had my background checked several times before so maybe is easier for them with that part. Also, preparing your document diligent  and exactly the way they require is very important for your process to speed.  Good luck and do not get yourself discouraged. Keep us posted!

I'm also B2 through Lawrence with a well-done triple-checked file. So....no differences really. Who knows! 🤷‍♀️

March 2019: Married, Filed I-130 in April 2019

AOS: Filed June 10, 2020, Received June 13, 2020, Cheque cashed July 16

(I-130 approved in Oct 2019 because we were originally doing consular CR-1 processing)
NOAs July 24 (dated July 17) 2020
Biometrics Jan 7, 2021 (notice dated Dec 12, received Dec 22)
Case updated to 'Interview Scheduled' (Jan 19, 2021, received letter Jan 25)

February 24! Interview! New Card being produced!

Feb 25, 2021: Case approved.

March 1, 2021: Card was mailed

March 4, 2021: Green Card Received! 🥳

March 25, 2021: SSN Application
March 29, 2021: Received SSN
Dec 5, 2022: I-751 ROC Delivered to Lockbox

Ohh I thought that your office is in Boston. Well, even I was a lawyer I can not tell you why. Nobody can tell why my case seems to be easier for them then yours but you are not right saying "no differences" because every case is different. Just be patient. I am sorry that you have experience longer wait :(

What do you mean by "triple-checked file" ?

We just came back from the interview and I’m approved aaaaaaa!! I’m gonna write down my experience before I forget.

So, our interview was at 11:30, Reno office, we went in at 11:15 and waited to be called until 11:40. The interview officer was super nice, he asked us the typical COVID-19 questions, then we took the oath and the interview started.

For what I could see the forms were reorganized in this order: I-485, I-944, I-864, I-765 and I-130.

He went through my I-485 and asked what’s my name, date of birth, address, previous address, if I’m currently employed, my parents names, how many times I’ve been married and date of marriage. Then he asked my husband his name, if he’s currently employed and how many times he’s been married. Also he had to add to my form that I was part of an organization because I didn’t write it in the original submission. Then he went through the yes/no questions, probably asked me 10 of those. I said yes to two of them (i had already disclosed it and explained it in the application I sent).

Finally he went through the rest of the forms and asked us if we had any type of paperwork/receipts/statements with both of our names or the address we share in it. We gave him our life insurances, health insurance, tax transcripts (we didn’t filed jointly but the transcripts had the same address), my military spouse card, joint bank account statements, his paystubs, my medical/pharmacy bills and that’s it.

He said “that should be enough, we are going to finish the background check and in an hour I should be able to approve you guys”. We left the building at 12:05. An hour later my online status for i-485 changed to “new card is being produced”. For I-765 my online status is fingerprints have been taken and I-130 case was received, I don’t think it matters anymore though.

Hope this helps you, the interview was very painless in the sense that nothing was asked that surprised us. Thank you so muuuuuuch for the support and help. I’m sorry if the post is written kind of poorly, if you have any questions let me know! :)

We had biometrics yesterday - woke up this morning that our case is ready to be scheduled for interview!  So it seems like they are expediting the I-485.

Hi SusnOwen,

Did they schedule your interview?

Both Boston and Lawrence have similar processing times for I-485
