I estimated 1.5 to 2.5 months based on USCIS 5.5 -7.5 months estimated processing time... Also, most April filers are now getting their EAD approved, so it falls in line with the estimated timeline.. As for how to expedite EAD/AP, i suggest you call the USCIS call center; you also need to have a valid reason for requesting to expedite your EAD/AP

yeah makes sense. Unfortunately there is uncertainty regarding each ASC. Mine is at Seattle which is moderate to heavy backlogged. But if you are in NY or Bay Area things are way way worst. In general, biometrics will happen 3 to 5 months after filling. This is what I start believing. Also sometimes order doesn't matter AT ALL. You can see cases are moving along the way and others stay behind --- even at the same city :(

You are quite right in the sense that order doesnt matter in so many cases! Also, having biometrics done doesnt necessarily mean that someone is ahead of another person who hasnt done his/her biometrics. You might have your biometrics done and still wait months for EAD/AP while someone that hasnt had his/her biometrics might be approved, and biometric scheduled immediately after approval.. Its such a complicated process.. By the way i sent my AOS in June and  received biometric appointment notice in July.

They won’t expedite without biometrics. Expedite will only help those who have already gotten theirs taken. And even if they approve the expedite you still have to get them taken and getting the appointment for that is the hard part.

I know April filers (heck, even February filers) who haven’t had their biometrics appointment and of course haven’t had their combo card approved. Not even close.

You are right but there are also many cases where EAD/AP have been approved without biometrics.  The process with USCIS isnt somewhat complex!

Yeah this is true. We don't know many details like RFE, security screenings, type of application (employment vs family) etc.

Congrats for the biometric appointment. May I ask which city is your ASC? Also did you apply for employment or family AOS

I applied for Family AOS. My ASC was in Glenmont Maryland, but i recently moved out of state. I couldnt go for the biometrics appointment at the ASC in Maryland, so i did a walk in to the nearest ASC at my new address in Atlanta, GA.

Got it ;) Congrats and hoe you get your EAD/AP the sooner. I am still waiting for my biometrics appointment but Seattle tends to have higher wait times :(

I am from Wisconsin. Applied in June. Haven't heard anything other than the receipt numbers. No biometrics yet. Considering that, I would say actually Baltimore is faster.

I'm also from wisconsin and applied in April, so far no peep on the biometrics appointment..

Early June filer here. After the first NOA in mid-June, radio silence here as well. No biometrics, no RFE, nothing. We're in Orange County California.

Yeah, in August I was calling them every week and kept getting same response "wait 90 days from ASC opening date".  Didn't give me any other info beyond what I can already see on the portal (which is "case received" for the last 3+ months).
