Hi, I received an update online for my I-751 to say "My Case Transferred And New Office Has Jurisdiction." Originally a WAC receipt number (I'm in San Francisco) - no info on new office in this email. This is the fist movement since I-751 NOA in June 2019 - I filed my N-400 in June 2020.

Can anyone share any insight on what to expect next?

My timeline:

  • I-751 filed: 6/5/2019
  • I-751 case updated with fingerprints: 31/1/2020
  • N-400 Form/Evidence Submitted & Receipt Notice: 06/17/2020
  • I-751 case transferred: 8/5/2019

I have a question for N-400 based on three years- marriage. Does your spouse have to go to the interview with you? I’ve got mixed answers but my understanding is that no.

thoughts?

Thanks for asking and appreciate the answer. I always thought N-400 based on 3 years marriage rule requires US citizen spouse presence at the interview (even if one has unconditional 10 years green card).  N-400 application based on 5 years rule does not require spouse presence.  I am in the first case and I planned to bring my wife. Good to know that I don't have to. Thanks...

Fantastic. I too hope they re-use my biometrics.  Yours were  one year young (last July).  Mine are 3 years old but took  5 hours wait ( Port Chester,NY 😞 ) .  In the mean time, they have yearly 2-3 fingers + iris scan when I come back from summer vacations via JFK, + twice yearly border xssing by road.

They finally started reusing the biometrics, I’m glad that I won’t have to do it all again😁😁

Do you think it will be done for everyone? I did my Biometrics for I751 in February 2020, I will love it to avoid 4 hours of driving to my nearest ASC center, not to mention it might speed up the process and get us in the interview room quickly
