My fiancée and I are currently in limbo due to the shut down of the consulate in Mumbai due to the pandemic.

Our NOA2 expires tomorrow, however our multiple emails to the consulate to request an extension have only resulted in form letter responses that don't actually address the extension.

I tried tweeting to the consulate, but they just directed me to the to the same support address we'd already been mailing.

We're hoping that emails on record from both of us asking for an extension will be enough to secure us one once they reopen.

We had also thought that it would make sense for her to fill out the DS-160 form now to show that we're still interested in going forward.  Our concern though is that the form asks when she'll be arriving, and we have no way of knowing at this point.   And we're concerned inaccurate information could screw things up.

Does it make sense to fill it out now or wait until we have a better idea of when she can get an interview?

Also, is there anything else we can or should be doing at this point?

My fiance and I are in a similar situation. Our NOA2 expired a few days ago, and our attorney had suggested we go ahead and submit the DS-160 in order to show our intent to move forward so that we could get the extension. For the "anticipated travel date" I just picked a date a few months from now. If I recall correctly, the question immediately preceding the travel date question is whether or not you've made definitive travel arrangements (which of course I said "No"), so I would hope the officers will understand if that date turns out to be inaccurate, but I can only speculate.

Whatever you do, good luck to you. It is a difficult time and I wish you and  your fiance the best!

NOA2 expiration dates will be extended by the embassies once they reopen. No need to call, text, tweet your extension request. Everyone is in the same point boat that has a NOA2 so you're not alone.

Thank you to both of you.  We had assumed all NOA2s would be automatically extended, but didn't like not being completely sure.

Thank you to EH and JH for sharing your attorney's advice.  We went ahead and filled out the DS-160.  Good luck to you and your fiance as well.  I hope you through the rest of the process quickly and smoothly once this is all over.
