Contact information for expedited interview request

Hello everyone,

As the title suggests, I am looking for the appropriate email address to request an expedited CR1 interview from the London Embassy. Judging from the website, the only way to do so is through an online contact form which doesn’t allow me to attach supporting documents (doctor’s notes and so forth) which we feel would help our case.

If anyone can offer any advice, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

i Believe you place an expedited request using the form  and they will contact you if they need additional documents.

Gary, where is your case right now?  Is it at NVC

I think so, yes. I was DQ’d on March 16th however on the CEAC website, it says my application is still at the NVC which I understand is the case until the embassy arranges an interview date.

I think the NVC arranges your date. Try to expedite with them. Or try the embassy, but they don’t arrange interviews anymore or send out appointment letters. It’s all done online now for Fiancé visas and CR1s who applied directly to USCIS in London. Those visas do not process at NVC. The contact form is the only way. They have a small staff working, but if they haven’t received all your files from NVC, they can’t issue your visa even if they granted you an emergency appointment via email. Try it. And see if they answer.

Did you have any luck with this? Did you fill in the contact form or find an email address?

No, unfortunately no luck. I contacted the embassy who replied with a very stock answer that was far from clear. After reading and re-reading, I decided that it was suggesting that I apply for an expedite through the NVC (I was DQ’d but had not yet been sent to the embassy). I did this and received another very stock reply which told me that they couldn’t forward my request because the embassy was closed. It would seem that my application was in a kind of bureaucratic no man’s land that the embassy and the NVC regarded as the other party’s responsibility. Very disappointing but I will most likely send the request again once the embassy opens up. When that will be is of course, another matter.

That sucks. We’ve tried NVC but they won’t even forward ours on to the embassy to ask about the expedite either, getting the same standard we’re closed and try again reply. I know someone who applied direct to the embassy in another country and it worked that way so was hoping you’d have had some good news. Guess we all just need to hope and keep trying. They really must be opening up soon when everywhere else in the UK is opening again. I hope there’s not a huge backlog!

Yes, I had seen stories on here of people contacting the embassy with some success, sadly not so this time. It would seem likely there’s a significant backlog however you’d think they will at least address each application in order of being DQ’d.

On a more positive note, yes, it does seem as though the country is returning to some level of normalcy. I’ve been reading the Prime Minister’s reopening plan however, while there are some (admittedly vague) descriptions of the kind of businesses that can get back to work during stages 1, 2 and 3, it isn’t clear, at least to me, which one the embassy might fall into. I know it’s been said a thousand times on this forum and I acknowledge that this is an unprecedented situation but the wait would be made a lot more tolerable if there was any kind of way of telling how long we’ll have to endure.

I think that’s what people are struggling with the most - the unknown of how long the wait really is going to be. It’s understandable they don’t want to commit to anything as things are changing day by day but some idea of rough dates, even an update of when they’ll be rescheduling interviews for etc... would help to ease the anxiety.

Interview scheduling online opened at the end of April for July dates. K1s whose files had already made it to London from NVC have made appointments. When no more July dates showed open, they went for August dates.

This is also open to IR1/CR1s who did the direct consular filing option and skipped the NVC altogether if their cases had been approved and passed on to the embassy visa unit from the USCIS London office. There was correspondence to one of those indicating no onsite personnel were working the mail room, which may indicate why NVC is not forwarding cases at this time.

The appointments that people were able to schedule for themselves is an indication that London hopes to be open for interviews by July.  Those appointments could be cancelled too if opening is delayed.  You in this thread will have your appointments chosen by NVC, so trying to reach a person onsite in London to get a date is not likely going to work, especially since your case file remains in the US for now.

Great, comprehensible information that is far better than anything I received from either the embassy in London or NVC. It would appear then that my hands are tied until the embassy opens whereupon I will resubmit my expedite request. Not the best case scenario but thanks a lot for giving me a broad brush timeframe from which to gauge my expectations. Helps with the mental aspect of things if not the actual paperwork.

I think your quickest approach will be to let NVC give you a date. It is very possible that all July/August dates were not opened up to those who schedule through this portal. https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv
There may be blocks of appointments open only to NVC assignment. I know in the past that those who got an expedite from NVC had everything sent over to London before getting DQ, but were then out of any normal process flow. They were in a “no man’s land” and weren’t automatically allowed in the online scheduling portal. It took some time and correspondence to get set up. Then you’d be behind all those who already filled up July and August. It may be better to stay in your queue and get a date and file sent. Then appeal to London to move up your date because of an emergency situation.  Changing a date in their system where you are already in may end up being quicker.  The other option is to plead with NVC to find your case and process your interview assignment first because you have an emergency. There is surely a large pile already DQ at NVC to assign interviews, so getting moved to the front of that queue would be the goal.

You know, it's a weird one, but I actually do have an expedite case forwarded to the London embassy (though no reply in the past couple of days so maybe it's lost forever because they AREN'T reading them, lol).

I e-mailed in March requesting an expedite and was told they can't pass it onto the embassy but the situation has changed somewhat (it's health related, not medical, but long story short in March my husband was potentially going to need surgery and wanted me there to pick him up, drop him off, etc., his family live hours away and the hospital aren't too keen on you ubering places and being alone for recovery).

It's now June and he 100% needs the surgery but doesn't want to schedule it until I'm there so I e-mailed again and this time, NVC said they could pass along the case to London and hang tight.

This was on Tuesday so now I'm just hanging around waiting to see what the embassy say.

I can't tell if it depends on who reads your e-mail, or what they think of the request, or... any other factors, but some are getting passed on.
