Do we need to upload the evidence of domicile to the NVC portal or just bring it to the interview?

Trump has been saying since he ran for president that he wants to curb “chain migration”, which is what he calls what you’re doing. Covid-19 was just the convenient excuse to follow through right before the election.

Also the government cares very much about the financial situation of a prospective immigrant, hence the recently tightened public charge rules.

It’s disheartening and cruel (and I hope that he loses the upcoming election), but not really a surprise.

Please how can my joint sponsor access the affidavit of support form should I give him our case number for him to log on to our account? And how will he upload it ? and will he need to sign the form ?

The I-864 is not an online form. You should download the latest version of the PDF, along with instructions PDF, and email those to your joint sponsor. They will need to fill out the form (either with Adobe Acrobat Reader or via hand after printing), print ALL pages (even the ones where they didn't enter any info), sign and date with ink, and scan ALL pages for you.

But what about the one the primary sponsor will fill  in the caac . Is it required to print it to and sign?

As Quarknase stated, there is no online form, even for the primary sponsor. The primary sponsor will have to fill out the form, print it, sign it (black ink), and scan all the pages as well.

Yes. The primary sponsor still needs to provide everything.

I think you need to click "Add joint sponsor" or so in the CEAC portal. That will open a second box where you upload the joint sponsors documents.

Maybe someone that used a joint sponsor can confirm/provide help?

We used the I-864ez so I don't have any details how the upload for joint sponsor works.

Yes, when you add a joint sponsor you have to wait for NVC to approve the joint sponsor, which generally takes a couple of hours. Then you can upload the I-864 and supporting documents.

Dear VJ Members !  I have submitted all documents to NVC in the Ist week of June 2020 for IR-5 visa . I want to know if NVC will review Docs. for IR-5 immigration visa now in view of 22nd June 2020 EO , as usual .

Or otherwise NVC will process the Docs. and declare " Documentarily Qualified " and then Interviews will be put on hold till 31st Dec. 2020 as per the revised EO . What is the status of IR-5 ?

I hope they are still reviewing applications for IR-5 visa. I submitted docs for my parents in mid June and got DQ soon after. I am not sure if things have now changed though given the extension of the EO. Right now my parents’ local embassy is not conducting IR-5 visa interview until further notice. It really doesn’t make sense to have the interview now anyway because as long as the ban is in place, you can’t enter the U.S even with the visa in hands. And that visa has an expiration date.

You are hoping that they are still reviewing applications for IR-5 visa at NVC . This is good !  However ,  wondering to know the factual situation  about IR-5 processing .

Have you come across any body whose IR-5 case was Documentarily Qualified ( DQed ) recentaly , as per VJ Forum or any other reliable source ?  It will be very useful to all if we can find out more information for IR-5 .  Thanks .

Hello Gar9,  I am from Mumbai waiting for NVC  DQ for IR5. There have been many IR5 cases approved by NVC in recent past despite ban. NVC shall continue processing IR5 documents and Mumbai consulate shall not release interview dates till ban is lifted or expired. Any way Mumbai consulate may not open at least for next two months. I submitted my docs during April 2020. Expecting DQ by third week of July as per current estimates.
