Hey all, filling out the I864 and couldn't find an answer to my question. I only have foreign income, so I have to get a joint sponsor. That's all good. On I-864 part 7 is assets, it says if you're income doesn't meet the requirements you can fill it out. Well, my assets don't quite make it either, hence the joint sponsor. So, do I need to fill part 7 out? It says optional if you meet the guidelines so I'm not sure in my case. Thanks~

Has anyone requested police certificates from UK (ACRO)? How long has it taken with covid-19? We have everything ready to submit to NVC except for a UK police certificate. My husband lived there less than a year but it is required for us to upload :(

My partner got his ACRO recently -- he paid a bit extra for expedited delivery-- I think he completed it on 5/26 and it we had it before 6/10  (but it may have come quicker than that!). It might take a bit longer if he is outside the UK but I don't think COVID is impacting it too much.

If he lived there less than a year and does not currently live there it's NOT required. The system just automatically creates a folder for every country that got listed in the previous addresses when you filled out the online form. I had the same situation and didn't get a certificate. Instead I just clicked it and entered a note saying I wasn't providing it because it wasn't required. I got DQd with no issues.

Wow, that is interesting to hear about. Thanks for sharing your experience. I think we will go ahead and try that. Worse case, we already have the police certificates processing so we can possbily note that he will bring them to the interview if needed.

I also just referenced this page where they say you don't need it for anything under 12 months.

Based on this link and my own similar experience I think you should be fine. I would go ahead and submit right now if you're ready. It obviously doesn't hurt that you already have the certificate pending but you likely won't need it. Good luck! :)

Shouldn’t be required if less than a year, but sometimes the system will ask for it... Took me 3 weeks to get the uk one delivered to Australia

Dear VJ Members !  I have submitted all documents to NVC in the Ist week of June 2020 for IR-5 visa . I want to know if NVC will review Docs. for IR-5 immigration visa now in view of 22nd June 2020 EO , as usual .

Or otherwise NVC will process the Docs. and declare " Documentarily Qualified " and then Interviews will be put on hold till 31st Dec. 2020 as per the revised EO . What is the status of IR-5 ?

NVC will review and either request more documents and/or declare “Documentarily Qualified”.
