It’s to try limit chain migration, I think in the past it’s been somewhat abused so we can only thank our predecessors I guess

Just wondering because I processed the payment on May 27th, and the funds were withdrawn from my account on May 28th. I’m curious, and lowkey worried that the adjustment could take weeks like I have seen some people experience as mentioned on some other VJ threads.

It's pretty much impossible to give you an estimate of when you'll receive your DQ. "Officially" they are currently working on cases from March. However, they are now prioritizing cases for the visa types not affected by the EO extension, which includes the CR1. Some people have received a DQ within hours of submitting, others in days or weeks. Hopefully yours will be soon!

How things are now its unpredictable. It can take a week, a month, or even 2 months. Im an IR1 and it took mine 5 weeks.

Family visas have been suspended since April 23rd and the new EO states that this ban is extended through end of year. Work visas are the addition.

USCIS is it’s own agency. NVC and embassies are under Department of State. Totally unrelated.
