No problem, let us know how it goes.

hey I found a site where you can see when they plan to open de airport (La Aurora)  for international flights http://www.dgac.gob.gt/index.php/notams

Right now its supposed to be the 30th of June but of course they can extend it. I know this doesn't mean the Embassy will open but that could be a light at the end of the tunnel.

If you are using assets for the entire sum of your AOS, what is the minimum that will need to be shown? Will $150,000 across checking accounts be ok? It would be for a household of 2 (citizen & spouse)

Are the assets in the USA? The reason I ask is bc I offered proof of my assests abroad and they still made a note that I had insufficient proof of income. My work is also considered foreign asset, as I live abroad.
I called and spoke to an officer who explained that foreign assets are frowned upon and they always make a note of this in their review at NVC. That it will be up to the Council Officer at the interview to decide to accept or not.  The officer highly suggested I get a joint sponsor...

The funds are liquid in US bank accounts.

It’s possible that they ask for a longer history of bank accounts - not speaking from personal experience (only from reading other comments), as they’re aware that people sometimes loan money to show assets, so they want to see that it’s not a recent gain of assets that might be gone immediately after approval :)

Did you ever get a chance to email the embassy?

Got this BS response from NVC, as to why I'vent received the welcome letter yet. beyond frustrating. Safe to say they have received file from USCIS and just letting it sit for whatever reason.

Based on the receipt number provided by USCIS, this case benefited from a pilot program for electronic I-130 processing. USCIS reviewed and approved this petition faster than average cases of this type as we develop the fully electronic transfer of data from USCIS to the Department of State. However, it will likely take longer than the 30-day timeframe mentioned on USCIS' approval notice and the up to 6 weeks' timeframe of the NVC. Despite this delay, please rest assured that we expect the overall time between filing your petition and completing processing with NVC will be consistent with the average processing time for this petition type.  When NVC completes the data entry for your constituent's case, your constituent will be notified by email or letter.  This will include instructions on how to log into the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) to begin case processing with NVC.

It’s actually true that they are picking IOE cases for test processing which go faster through USCIS and then take longer between USCIS and NVC while they’re testing the software, but based on your timeline you didn’t get an expedited I-130 approval so I don’t know what to say 🤣

haha exactly. It would be one thing if I got approval in 90 days or sth. The pilot program was early 2019, seems like NVC had this canned response ready for inquiry for delays in case creation and just sent me that.

Haha yeah. I guess the silver lining is, that they confirmed that they have your case. Seeing so many people being given the run around (NVC: not received; USCIS: but we’ve sent it) so in your case at least you know it has arrived

Hello,

I have a question, on my AOS my wife is filling with her mother that lives with her (a household member), but I was reviewing the docs my lawyer submitted to the CEAC and he submitted the I-864a as a joint sponsor by mistake instead as a household member. I let them know about their mistake and they send a letter to the NVC letting them know about it, saying that they submitted on the wrong place and signed by my wife (petitioner).

Does anyone know if this can delay my process getting DQ? We submitted on May 8th.

Thanks in advance.

I had something similar to this happen to me. I accidentally added the household member of my joint sponsor as my household member. What I did was submit a duplicate of the i864a to the corresponding sponsor. I then wrote a letter to NVC on CEAC to please disregard the household member under my household member section. That the household member belongs to the Joint sponsor, to remove from my section if necessary.  They went ahead and deleted from my (primary sponsor) household member section. They accepted all documents, no delay. However , I went ahead and submitted a duplicate under the correct sponsor.

Did your lawyer resubmit under the corresponding section?
