If any coutry should be open for interviews it should be Vietnam.  As a country of 96,000,000 peole there have been less than 400 total cases of COVID.  Half of those are known when they arrive at quarantine upon arrival as repatriated citizens.  There have been ZERO deaths from COVID and it has been 48 straight days without a new case in the general population  (not counting those brought into the country).  Everything is open here, daughter has been back in school for a couple of weeks now.  Things are completely nornal.

They did say limited citizen services started back up June 1 but that is all so far.  https://vn.usembassy.gov/limited-american-citizen-services-acs-appointments-starting-june-1/

Don’t worry.

I thought that only the applicant attend to the interview.  I was surprised when I read that on their website.

@Rosie91@MegMarc, i emailed the embassy to see if they had a tentative start date planned for the interviews. So we will see what they come up with.

I emailed the Amsterdam consulate last week asking this same question, seeing as things are reopening here in the Netherlands.  I got a response after one week, saying they had no information to share. Per their email:

"As for our Consulate, we have closed all nonimmigrant and immigrant visa services. We cannot provide you with a time frame on when we will resume services."

So the wait in the dark continues. My DQ was in April.

Thanks for sharing, I kinda expected the answer, but we can always try!
Ive been thinking that it might not be all country related, since its officially US ground. The only thing that we do know is that the dv interviews are still scheduled in October, so something must open up around that time. We need to find someone who received a DQ before corona, had their interview canceled and see/find out when they will be rescheduled.

Has anyone tried to make an account etc ahead of your embassy letter? I found the Official U.S. VISA information and appointment services Website, and would like to look at the calendar but you need an account.

The calendar shows non-immigrant appointment availabilities so it won't give you too much insight. Immigrant visa appointment availabilities are being disclosed to NVC by the embassy.

It won’t help. They are cancelling all non IV appointments

that, too :D I read that many folks are booking available slots on the calendar only to receive a cancellation email soon after. Apparently consulates are cancelling for July and August

Embassy responded to both my emails today, so they are definitely up to snuff with their emails.

Email 1.
Dear Madam,

Unfortunately, we do not know when our regular visa services will resume, we cannot provide you with a time frame.

Could you please provide us your case number of your immigrant visa application?

email 2.
Dear Madam,

We do not have access to your case yet because it is still pending with NVC. Once NVC determines the file is complete with all the required documents, they schedule the applicant’s interview appointment. NVC then sends the file to us where the applicant will be interviewed for a visa. Unfortunately, because of the current situation, there might be a delay.

Please contact NVC for any questions since your case is not with us yet.

auto-reply email.
Thank you for contacting Amsterdam's Immigrant Visa Unit.

We review all messages, however we reply only to inquiries not covered below.  Due to a staffing shortage, we will do our best to reply within five business days to inquiries not covered below.

COVID-19 NOTICE:  Effective immediately, the U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam is closed for non-emergency consular services, including visa appointments. If you have an emergency need to travel and are possibly eligible for an exception to the proclamation, we will respond to you within 2 business days to schedule a visa appointment.

So no progress.. 🤷‍♀️ Has anyone tried calling NVC about their letter? How long does it normally take for you to get it anyway?
