You can always delay and move the date if you need to move it out that far then do so.

So they scheduled my medical on the 24th at 8am

. I got there exactly at specified time, all tests are performed on the third floor of the clinic. When I got to that floor I saw 4 people sitting there, only later I understood they are all here for the same reason. 

 

First was urine test and x-ray, that was super fast and done in 10 minutes and that's when things got terribly slow. 

 

You don't know what the next test will be, so you just sit in a corridor with the rest of people and wait till they call you. The next blood test took around 45 minutes to be done because the rest of the people went before me. Then it was weight, height and blood pressure tests. It took another hour or so. Finally, there was a medical history check where the doctor asks about diseases you have or had, mental illness, and checks your body and lungs. Personally, for me, the wait felt like it took forever. The first 3 people took around 20-30 minutes each, and the last 2 (including me) took like 5 minutes. I don't know what the reason was for the long wait, but I finally heard that my condition is fine and I'm good to immigrate. 

 

So in total it was 4.5 hours of the medical exam and the results won't be in time for the interview, because my interview is scheduled on the 30th of June at 10:30am, so they told me they would send it to the embassy directly around 11am on the 30th.

 

From what I heard, they were allowed to give only 1 envelope per day, so they found a person who could pick it up themselves and everyone else's results would be sent directly to the embassy.  

 

As for interviews in Kyiv people had them on the 30th,1st, and some other dates but all were relatively soon. I believe they resumed work at a pretty good pace. 

This is a great detailed medical. Felt like I was there with you. 2 more days and you are done. That's great. Keep us posted ho things go Curious to see how during Pandemic interviews go.

Does anyone know what are the actions required now? I understand that next vaccine should be done, but do I need to redo the medical and get positive antibodies? 

 

Really feel lost for now since all I got just the test result.

No you said the doctor said all good it will be noted in your medical you are safe to immigrate. Nothing to be sad aout if it was a issue they would have told you  you have to have to shot to immigrate.

Unfortunately my husband was refused due to a marijuana charge from when he was 18. We were instructed to file an I-601 waiver, which we are in the process of putting together now. Obviously a big disappointment; we were planning on booking his tickets to come here that night.

 

So, for now I'm trying to obtain a short term visa to Australia so I can at least be with him while the waiver processes. I dont want to put off starting our life together any longer.

Damn so sorry to hear. Interesting they say a 601 waiver first I heard of that for a marijuana charge. Usually it's a 1 year ban and random drug test and they must do counseling. So I guess the 601 is to overcome that.

 

Really sorry. Glad you will be together through it that's what matters most.

Is it over a month after informing you that you are already DQ?

The visa center is where you pick up your Visa packet. Once the embassy is complete with your file and you are approved everything then is sent to Visa center fro processing.

Well two things must happen now. The embassies must up up to regular visa processing. Then once they do they reschedule the cancel appoints from March to the present. Then NVC will start scheduling interviews once they get the go ahead from the embassy.

How long who knows. I know your embassy right now just doing expedites.

I'm surprised too, but we have grounds for an extreme hardship as far as the waiver goes so that's good news? Maybe it won't take as long. I believe there were two reasons he didn't get the ban.

 

1 - The medical examiner was aware of the charge and cleared him based on the fact that it was so long ago and that he hasnt smoked since. I think the ban is ultimately up to the medical examiner.

 

2 - The "charge" wasn't technically a charge by Australian law. He went to court but did not receive a criminal charge as long as he didn't receive another violation. The way the consulate explained it though is that the US government still sees it as a charge.

 

Crossing my fingers that there are no hang ups in me traveling there (with my daughter), but at this point I'm just always preparing myself for the worst 😒
