LOL @Alex....I didn't think Music&Lyrics was too bad, but I have to admit, rather sheepishly, that I do like movies with Hugh Grant and I like Drew a lot too...so, for me, it was good. In addition, I'm a sucker for nearly ANY romantic comedy, so....my standards aren't that high.

I really loved "The Holiday" ...that was one of the favorite romantic comedies I've seen in quite a while, but my favorite all time romance recently has been rewatching Pride & Prejudice. I loved it so much, and watched it a few times, so that when I was really ill the other day Craig went out and bought the book for me and I'm enjoying that now. Awwwwwww. Nice hubby! Poor guy is ill himself the last couple of days... :( Good list for some ideas...sounds disappointing on the Shrek3 as I'm really looking forward to it and haven't seen it yet! :( M.

Deja Vu had potential, but all it was really about was Denzel saving a piece of hot a$$. Save the pretty girl! Would have have been interested in saving her if she looked like Star Jones? Doubt it. It's all about the superficial. Plus, the plot was tissue-thin; I knew who the bad guy was almost instantly. I don't like it when it's that obvious.

I didn't think it was so much about finding the bad guy as it was him figuring out a way to change things. I did have a problem with the timeline though. The way I saw it, he had proved that there was a set of events that happened either because of his presence or regardless of his presence. To me, if some of those things happened, then all of those things should have happened.

yeah that is what I was thinking after I watched the movie.... there was some really big plot holes in that movie that were hard to ignore

The thing I had the biggest problem with is how Denzel Washington appeared to know more about the time travel device than the people who were explaining it to him. As if someone could really see a laser pointed being shined at them over a video monitor from several days ago.

Man on Fire was another Denzel stinker. Had an interesting premise, but the unrelenting torture stuff left a nasty taste in my mouth.

He is in a new Ridley Scott movie called 'American Gangster' which actually looks interesting.

My hubby and I saw Next with Nicholas Cage a few weeks ago... It had a cool premise but the movie kind of fell flat....

Most of the movies based on Philip K. ####### stories are heavily adapted, there's only a couple that are any good - and even those are only vaguely similar to the original story.

Not surprising considering the most faithful adaptation - A Scanner Darkly is almost incomprehensible without a familiarity with the book.

Ever read the short story that Total Recall is based on? Its very different - and #######'s sense of humour is the one thing that doesn't come across in some of those movies.

 i have..i think it is a very fine read and much more indepth than what arnold could act...i always enjoy #######'s writings.....and there is no humor in any of the movies made from his books..

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968) is well known as the literary source of the influential 1982 film Blade Runner....

BR is the only movie based on #######'s work which actually stands up to the source material as a force in its own right. The book is very different - specifically in the characterisation Deckard. In the book he's shown as a petty bureaucrat, rather than the world-weary private detective-type that he is in the movie. That was a stroke of genius IMO - combining #######'s story with Raymond Chandler presentation.
