Tried to get Norbit this weekend, but it was all out.

We watched Primeval instead, which I enjoyed for a thriller/horror type flick. That Gustave is one big croc! :o

Oh, also saw Stranger Than Fiction last night. I fell asleep towards the end, so I guess I'll try to finish it tonight. Don't know if I was just tired, or if it really couldn't hold my attention. I did enjoy the philosophical and ethical questions that it raised though.

We saw Shrek3 and it wasn't that good the other two were much better, it was a "snoozer" we actually fell asleep in the theater on this one

Visually it was interesting - though I don't think that the subtexts Mel was trying to work in there worked exactly as he intended.

I've wanted to see a Native American movie about the Mesoamerican civilisations - Apocalypto worked well as a snapshot (if you can forgive the highly implausible plot device in the middle - contrary to what is shown - the Mayans had a pretty advanced understanding of atronomy), but you don't come away with much understanding of how their society worked and the mass human sacrifice thing was rather overplayed.

We rented some vids last week at Blockbuster.

Happy Feet was cr@p.

Deja Vu was cr@p.

The Sentinel was cr@p.

Stranger than Fiction...dunno, fell asleep during it. I'll give it another try.

Dang you are tough! Thumbs down on Happy Feet and Deja Vu even! I liked both of those movies. I sat down and watched Dream Girls on Sunday. I don't know what the hype was. It was lame.

Happy Feet just went on too long and I didn't like all the musical numbers. I just didn't really care for it; I found it patently unfunny and at many points, unwatchable.

Deja Vu had potential, but all it was really about was Denzel saving a piece of hot a$$. Save the pretty girl! Would have have been interested in saving her if she looked like Star Jones? Doubt it. It's all about the superficial. Plus, the plot was tissue-thin; I knew who the bad guy was almost instantly. I don't like it when it's that obvious.

I think I've heard of Dream Girls but haven't seen it. I don't watch that many movies nowadays because most of them seem to be formulaic, derivative garbage.

We saw Norbit the other night, it was ok, not Eddie's best work IMO

Loved Apocalypto  even tho it was gory and not quite accurate

Happy Feet was cute i thought

Inside Man was very good i thought, loved the twist at the end.

I didn't think it was so much about finding the bad guy as it was him figuring out a way to change things. I did have a problem with the timeline though. The way I saw it, he had proved that there was a set of events that happened either because of his presence or regardless of his presence. To me, if some of those things happened, then all of those things should have happened.
