Weird thing happened with the USCIS

Hello everyone

this is a question for a friend of mine who has his immigrant visa issued (spouse visa).

when he was in the USCIS step, he submitted a G325 instead of I130a even though the form was already expired (he submitted the form in 10/2017). weird enough that the form was accepted and they did not send an RFE

he completed the journey and now has his visa issued. Will he face a problem at the POE when the CBP review his papers?

thank you

The longer version is: it is up to the CO to decide whether or not the documentation presented is sufficient to issue a visa. The very limited instances in which a CBP Officer would refuse entry to someone issued an immigrant visa would not be based on what that officer thought of the included documentation (could be something like crime committed between visa and entry). In far too many years on VJ I remember seeing exactly one report, of a Canadian at a land border, being refused entry on an IV and that was due to a criminal record. It was later confirmed that the person could in fact enter on that visa.
