I filed my 129f petition for my fiance that lives in uganda I received my first noa on Feb 14 and have not received any thing else does anyone know what the processing time is for k1 visas in uganda ?

It is typically 6-8 months for NOA2 for k1s, (not Uganda specific) but things have drastically slowed due to COVID so I would expect it to be much longer. There are several steps for a K-1. You are in step 1.

1) I-129F processing at USCIS

2) NVC processing

3) Consulate processing

4) Interview

5) Administrative Processing

6) Visa Issued

7) POE

 

Step 1 usually takes the longest, which is around 4-6 months right now according to other VJ members (https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php?cfl=).

The NVC steps are currently taking up to 2 months. Usually a matter of days for a K-1, but takes time to get shipped from USCIS and to ship to the consulate, which seem to be slow right now. Also, they are not shipping the packets to the consulates right now unless there is an emergency interview or visa processing has resumed (only a handful are just starting to open back up).

 

From filing to interview, expect 6-8 months, assuming you are not delayed by COVID any further.

These timelines can change quickly...the numbers above are based upon people who have waited 6-8 months ago, not somebody applying today.

I am a December filer. We were notified a week ago that they are sending an RFE. It's not a fast process

Ok that answers my question I havent received any notification about any delays on my case and actually received my noa1 within just a few days. But on a whole im just praying through that its all done soon but I understand that it might be delayed a lot.

They are just now beginning to finish with January's files and are now moving onto Feb. You have a bit of time left but it is getting closer.

Premium processing is a service USCIS provides for certain annually-limited petitions, specifically worker petitions, that an employer can pay to have the petition adjudicated within 2 weeks. The employer submits it, not the beneficiary.

Premium processing does not exist for family-based petitions.
