Well, there's always the train in Russia if you're feeling adventurous!

Or just going from St. Petersburg to Moscow (well, half of the Helsinki to St. Petersburg line is in Russia, but that's presumably run by Finns) ...

/when I visited Anastasia in Russia, she took an overnight train to meet me in Moscow, and then the plan was to fly to her hometown on the late evening flight. Which was canceled while we were both en route to Moscow. And the next one wouldn't have gotten us to Kirov before we were supposed meet her dad, so we ended up taking the train. Which was a bit crazy.

I think the entire train from Helsinki to Petersburg is run by the Finns. I believe the Russians probably just work with it but it's a Finnish company. Love that train, so painless and easy and basically the same quality train you'd find anywhere in Western Europe.

Russian trains within Russia are super underrated, the only thing is one sort of needs at least basic Russian language skills to navigate it if you're travelling alone.

City names and time tables are not too hard to understand (all Moscow time).  My Russian is very basic and we did it :)  I am dreaming of another long trip after the pandemic, not sure where yet.

Every consulate was shut down, while USCIS service centers continued to process petitions.  I would be shocked if any consulate did NOT have a serious backlog.....
