I know in-person services were closed for a lot of things, but is the embassy still making appointments? We just got DQ'd so looking forward to when I have to travel up there etc :)

General scheduling is currently not happening, but you can sometimes get an emergency interview depending on your situation. It has to be a reasonably compelling situation though... a few have managed to get their interview scheduled. They have usually had a medical or significant compassionate reason and their paperwork was already at or on it’s way to the Consulate.

What do you mean you got DQ’d?

All our documents were approved by NVC :)

I have a job offer from a tech company. Maybe that would get me an emergency appointment?

So your documents are already at or on their way? I am at the NVC stage too. But from what I’ve ready they are not shipping the docs out to the consulate.

If yours are already at the consulate or confirms as on their way you’ll need to email the consulate with your case number and make your request. If they approve it they will give you a date and you’ll have to get your medical done pretty quickly too. All you can do is request.

On Aug 31st we received an email stating K1 visa interviews were commencing again at the Sydney consulate and asking if we were ready (they have no idea how ready we are...). Then a day later we got our interview date for less than a week later. Looks like all us K1 folks that have been waiting for what has felt like forever are finally going to get our visas soon :)
