My wife does this daily, by choice and she. Takes infinite care to make sure it is fresh, tasty and healthy. I told her it was unnecessary and was promptly shut down, makes us both happy

I make my wife a breakfast and lunch everyday before we head off to the office.  Mostly because she is always running late, and if I don't, she will be a witch to live with!

Choices don't happen in a vacuum, they happen in society that's deeply biased against women as you said. Just because someone "chooses" something, doesn't mean it's not an indication of a wider problem. 

 

Most people think their decisions have nothing to do with outside forces (maybe other people are influenced, but NOT ME) but they're just blind to how they have been led to that choice by society/socialization/marketing. 

 

Preparing a meal for your husband might or might not be problematic, it depends on the context. Of course, attacking the woman for it is not going to help.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
