Hello everyone. Still waiting for my interview to be scheduled, had my biometrics done a month ago in Charlotte, NC.

I am a bit concerned about upcoming travels starting in September. As long as I have a GC, I don't have any problems and am able to travel. Problem will be after my oath ceremony where I will have to turn it in. Passport applications, even expedited ones are taking close to 12 weeks from what I heard due to backlog. That would leave me at least 3 months without being able to leave the country. Hopefully its not the case.

Has anyone else thought about this?

Yes lots of us have :) US passport agencies give you same-day passports and I discuss how you can make an appointment (with proof-of-travel)  in the Passports sub-forum:

Just checked my USCIS account and my oath ceremony has been scheduled for July 29. Unfortunately not allowed to bring anyone with me.

Congratulations! I still haven't seen my oath ceremony being scheduled since my interview on June 2nd in Chicago.

Awesome. This gives me hope

On average, how long is it taking to get interviews after doing biometrics. Not reuse though, after new biometrics being taken?

This varies significantly by local field office. I'm not sure there is much of a formal unless your local office does same day oaths. Your best bet is to look at VJ timeliness similar to yours and see now long it has been taking.

Thanks! I was lucky. A few days ago I saw N400 applicants from my field office who had their interview at the beginning of June who still hadn't been scheduled for their oath ceremony. So you're not the only one.

Hi everyone.

Soon, I am going to have my biometrics apt. I am wondering if they're going to shoot a picture of myself. If yes, is that picture going to be on my US passport when I apply for it?

Thanks!

Ugh, I just don't understand why most people get their oath ceremony on the same day or in one month, and I don't even have a scheduled date in 5 weeks.

Yes they are going to take a picture of you at the biometrics.

No, PP application is an independent process of which you will take a new picture at the PP office or take one somewhere else and bring it with you to the PP office.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Some are lucky. The IO may tell you about it and ask if you wanna finish the process there and there. Others know about oath dates and ask IO if it is possible to squeeze them in earlier.

I think, no matter what my IO says at the interview, that I'll ask if there's an oath that day they might be able to squeeze me into. It can't hurt. I just want America to be my final home. I've thought about it, and I feel that committing to this nation that took me in, and granted me more freedoms than my native land (Canada) is the right thing for me to do. And the sooner I can commit, the better, IMO.
