Hi July filers,

Did anyone file it by paper? I filed it by paper and when I received the Notice 797C today, it shows my case number starting with IOE...., I wonder is this the same for other paper filers? I am under impression that only online filer would receive IOE case number. Thank you!

PS: I also receive another notice instructing me how to sign up an online account to add my case on it, it seems that USCIS trying hard to move all cases online in the near future.

IOE is for petitions that CAN be filed online, even if you choose not to.

Are you using https://my.uscis.gov/?

You can see all your cases with more information there.

I see it now, thanks.

it says "Estimated wait time: 6 days ".  Does that mean I will get my fingerprint appointment in 6 days?

Found this 2020 Annual report by DHS online that details out the N400 backlog and how USCIS is handling the surge. Thought it would be a useful read to everyone here -

Miami, Florida is showing 10 months.   There are many field offices  that take a long time compared to others...Let's hope that they don't take longer than 10 or 11 months.

Thank you for the posting the link.  These are the two most important takeaways from the report regarding naturalization requests.  The first quote is the problem of backlog:

"

Simultaneously, USCIS attempts to balance processing times for its Forms N-400 and Forms I-485 workloads, and seeks to ensure that all field offices have similar processing times.43 However, the expanded interview requirements resulted in additional workloads that have impacted overall adjudication times.44"

The second quote is the solution or for USCIS to adopt modern technology to remove the backlog:

"

The resumption of in-person services and the continued need for social distancing presents USCIS with an opportunity to introduce video teleconferencing technology (VTC) into its naturalization process. In the short-term, VTC offers USCIS a legally permissible and operationally feasible solution for resuming interviews and oath-taking ceremonies while ensuring greater protections for its employees and applicants. In the long term, remote naturalization has the potential to increase efficiencies, creating long-term solutions for better balancing workloads and overcoming resource constraints."

Contact your political representatives and insist that USCIS adopt a more streamlined interview and oath taking all in the same day.
