Nothing to be worried about, some people wait for months while others wait for years, it's unfortunately how it is. And now since the lockdown cases are not being worked on in the right order anymore, so you're likely to see people who filed both before and after you getting biometrics apppintments/reuse before you. Many of us have tried to contact USCIS via the online account, some had luck and received appointments, others didn't.

All of us have been through periods of having no estimated completion time, it automatically goes away when it takes longer than expected. The estimation is also not correct whatsoever, it keeps changing throughout the process, so even if you had one it would still be completely useless. That's considered normal these days, so that's also nothing to worry about.

IOE only means that the N-400 form is avaliable for online filing (your receipt number starts with IOE no matter if you actually filed online or not). All N-400 (and other petitions as well) are being pre-processed at NBC as they require an interview. NBC is the service center that prepares cases for interview. Once your local ASC is ready to schedule you for a biometrics appointment (or if they decide to reuse your old biometrics) NBC will do background and security checks on you. Once NBC is done, yiur case will sit there until your local field office is ready to schedule you for an interview. This can take days, months or even years - all depending on how slow or fast your field office is. It differs A LOT between field offices across the country.

Thank you for this Scandi.  I shall just play the waiting game along with everyone else then I guess.  I foolishly thought that this rather simple process of getting in line would be better administrated.

The current delay is purposefully caused by the previous administration to slow down legal immigration, administratively.

Not at all, the current delay is 100% virus related.

Everyone who files are already in line, it happens automatically. They just give you a generic response hoping that you won't bother them anymore, they just want to you "off the phone". I would recommend to keep nagging, like once a month or so. Eventually they'll get so sick of you that they give you an appointment or reuse. That's what I did. 😆

Well. The virus did cause delay. But the processing time has been increasing dramatically throughout trump admin. There were bipartisan lawmakers asking the USCIS to speed up the process. The delay was widely reported all the time prior to the pandemic. In fact, the pandemic only had its impacts in in trump’s final year.

And during Obama's presidency wait times were more than twice as long for certain processes than they were during the Trump presidency. The processing times have always gone up and down, and will always continue to go up and down. The only difference is that mainstream media don't find it news worthy when the "right" person is in office, so you never hear about it. When the "wrong" person is in office you can be sure they'll splatter that stuff all over every single media outlet.

A year before I started my process when Obama was in office it took closer to a year for the i-129f to be processed, while a couple of years later, during the Trump presidency, it took 2-3 months. As an example. You can blame whoever you like, but it doesn't change the fact that processing times go up and down all the time, no matter who happens to be the president at the time.

Congrats Rodeo! You are getting closer to your last rodeo with the USCIS.  When did you get your Bio done? Was it a reuse?
