HELLO!! I'm back to the forum!!! Just applied for my husband's N400 in July. I'm a bit confused on how long this is going to take.. Seems quite different than the visa process since now it's depended on our field office?

Estimated case completion time

March 2021 (8 months)

Submitted on July 09, 2020

For those who already filed online, is there a difference applying on a weekend and weekdays? I am still contemplating if I just wait until Monday to file but a part of me wants to do it now. Lol

I filed on a Friday. No difference other than that my receipt notice was only available on my online account the following Monday. Not like that's an issue or anything, the receipt date is still the same as the date you clicked "submit".

I think we both are in same boat. Mine is at Detroit as well.

Yea, I got my NOA in the mail 7 days after submitting online, so still not sure what the 24-day “estimated wait time” means...anyone have any idea?

Sorry to burst your bubble but this "wait time" count down means nothing. Once you reach to end of it it changes to "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time."

Maybe it meant something before but for the moment, although some ASC centers have started opening up, nobody in this forum (even April or late march filers) received a biometric appointment and it makes sense that USCIS schedules appointments on first come first serve basis.

With the Covid 19 and likely furlough I would not expect a biometric appointment any time soon and neither should you. USCIS announced that they are not waiting for biometrics to process applications so if they are right you should not be worried about the delays.

Enjoy your time. This is a waiting game like any other step of our immigration journey.

Applied around 1AM. Received for now just payment confirmation. When try to check it online it shows “user defined error”...anyone else has same issue? Or it’s too early?
