It seems that most folks who have received biometrics notifications are from "red" states (FL, OH, TX). Is it politics or simply that 'blue" states (NY, CA) shutdowns affected USCIS more?

I’m in OK and no notice.

I am from Texas, no notice yet. Most of us are in same boat. Just wait and watch.

Well, I did some research and from it I learnt that the USCIS agents that will receive your call would pretty much submit an inquiry form for you. So instead of hustling and bustling over the phone just to get in touch with one, I went ahead and filed the request on my own, albeit by sending a direct email from my USCIS online account (I filed N400 online. When I went to submit the online inquiry request, I read the following "ALERT: If you electronically filed your case and have a myUSCIS account, you should instead visit the myUSCIS login page to submit an inquiry or address change." So I logged inside my account and sent direct email. Hopefully, I get  a response and provide you guys with an update. Surprisingly, as of today, I am at 117 days yet I have not received biometrics appointment.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Hey guys,

I had my interview today at Cleveland office and got approved for citizenship.

Interview was very easy and ended in 15 minutes or less.

Officer tried tricking me on yes or no questions / rapid round ( part 12 of form) listen carefully for questions which was hard due to mask .

At the end he gave me form of approval and said oath ceremony schedule date will be known through a mail in 2 weeks.

Thank God finally the long wait is over.

Hope you all get yours approved soon , I know its very stressful wait period but worth it.

Good lock !

Stupid question. We submitted online and it's been 94 days since. Do you think that Calling in USCIS or sending a direct request through the myUSCIS account would accelerate anything?

it seems that California is not moving at all.

Yes I called up last month wait time was more than 1 hour 20 min . Finally someone was on call able to help and they sent me notice the same week. Calling them will definitely move your case faster.  ( just FYI I also sent a request online saying my proccesing was out of time limit and by time they called me on this I already spoke to there team by calling directly )

My advice is do both

thanks much for the advice. I tried to submit a case inquiry and system tells me I'm still within the processing time for my processing center, which I'm assuming will be San Francisco, though we submitted online.

what state are you in?

From Texas, when I called them; they said same and processing time for Texas is 30 months. If I pass 30 months then they will look into the matter. 30 months is too much though.

Hello everyone.

I filed 7/18 have not heard back since then.

Yesterday I called USCIS and I got the typical response. I asked for a Tier 2 since I was over the 90 days since Charlotte, NC ASC opened. She said she could schedule a callback. By the way, there was no wait time which was good. She said Tier 2 could take up to 7 days to call me back.

After I ended the call, immediately after Tier 2 called me, again no wait time. She said the timelines were not consistent, that although some people in my area have already naturalized, she understood my concern but at the end of the day, it is what it is. It will take however long it takes, she said there is no consistency whatsoever. If you happen to move along faster good for you but there is nothing in the way they are processing that determines that.

She told me that since they had already sent a request regarding Biometrics on my case and I got the standard response back, that she could not send another one for 30 days. I did like the fact she was very realistic and also understanding. She told me to be patient, they have huge backlogs, and then COVID happened so to not feel like I have to contact them again because nothing is holding my case back.

Just wanted to share that with everyone. I filed under the 5 year eligibility.

what is the magic word to say?

Magic phrase is 'technical support'

Took me some time of trial and error to figure it out
