I have been told that that is grounds for flat out denial and loss of your filing fees...

Fees go up on October 2nd, so not sure why you want to file on August 2nd.

And no, you can't file earlier than your eligibility date, they will reject your application and you will have to start over again.

That’s weird. My time changed to 7 months. Initially it was 9 months. My office is Detroit as well

I just checked and it now says 8 months, I guess it’s gradually normalizing after that maintenance day spike... hopefully, it goes back down to 7 months like before...

In addition to the fact that the fee increase doesn't go into effect until October (so if you file anytime in August, you'll still be under the current fee scale), if you file online, the website won't allow you to submit before your eligibility window opens anyway.

Yea, it’s been quite erratic since their “system maintenance”, but mine is now down to 8 months, I don’t even think these estimates really reflect how much time it’s going to take with everything that’s going on, best to keep our fingers crossed and be ready for quite some waiting ☹️

I read on the biometrics thread that they will start sending biometrics appts a month after the reopening of ASCs. I called USCIS today to ask on the status of my application, I was told my case is still at the NBC. This other person said theirs was already transferred to local field office for further processing. So that is all I have seen.
