@Hilde That's not the news I was hoping to see this morning. I see that you filed for IR-1/CR-1 in NY (the same as we did).

If you don't mind me asking, when were you documentarily qualified by the NVC? And has your interviewed been previously cancelled/rescheduled? We are also sitting here in Brazil as patiently as possible waiting for our interview to be scheduled in Rio.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news here. Not a good look :(

I am not sure why my timeline insists on putting my location in NY. I am in Rio de Janeiro.

My DQ date is in May 2020 and I have NOT had any contact from the consulate. I did not have any interviews scheduled, unfortunately.

If you go to PORTALS - on the top of this page, you will see others with a similar timeline as you and who have the same embassy. If you look on the right side of that page, you will see a list of the next interviews at your embassy. If you click individually on those names, you will see their info - some of whom had interviews for February and are now scheduled for August.

That´s all the news I have...

This is great news! However, it isn't clear to me if this is going to make much difference at the Rio consulate, judging by the fact that covid is wildly out of control here... Hopefully it won't take much longer.

I think its a clear  message to open embassies with precautions.  But lets see what happen next. Because embassy doing events and only stop processing applications that not fair

What events are going on? I'm out of the loop.

Anyone thinks it's strange that almost all of the most recently updated interview dates from Brazil are CR1s? There are barely any IR1s. I wonder if this is because there are way more fiancee visa cases.

If you follow embassy facebook   They do events

Agreed, doesn't make any sense to do events but not process visas.

I agree. Though if you're looking at data updated on this website I assume there are just fewer people with IR-1 cases being tracked here. Not there are fewer IR-1 cases being processed.

Hi Faisal1, US Citizen here waiting on my spouse's visa in Brazil. I truly hate to be a negative Nancy but I don't believe this has much affect on us here in Brazil. It appears to be related to the countries previously affected by the Muslim ban. See here for more information. Biden has (at least indirectly) expressed that he is not planning to resume things in Brazil due to our COVID. I believe that until 3/4 of the population in Brazil are vaccinated and/or cases numbers drop and stay low, things will not change outside of emergencies. I've been watching the COVID progress here.

I hope I am wrong and we all start seeing more significant movement with interviews and case processing soon.

I would actually recommend watching this page to see how many visas are actually being issued each month.

Hope that helps!

Well as i read that all embassies and consulate. Also i am waiting for my lawyer to comment on this. And i am waiting for my lawsuit against rio consulate because they are doing events outside. But only stop processing visas that are not banned.   Very unfair that indian consulate working fine while covid 19 is 2nd most cases there

I would love to know when these last 6 CR1 and 7 IR1 had their DQ!
