Naoh2 Today!,! June 23

I really hope the German embassy opens soon and that the PP from yesterday doesn't touch us all.

So we all have our NOA2 approvals, now what? 😁   I have read so much conflicting information on embassy closures, EOs, etc.  Does anyone here have a good pulse on the situation?  Are NVC approvals moving forward?  Will Embassy's begin processing K1 approvals when they re-open?  What happens if your NOA 2 expires?

Embassies are not yet open for routine visa services, but when they do reopen, they are expected to begin processing mission critical visas first (primarily spousal).

NVC isn't involved in the approval portion of the I-129f/K-1, they simply forward approved petitions from USCIS to consulates and embassies, a process which has been on hold for two months.

NOA2s that expire can be extended beyond the 4 months.  Some embassies do this automatically (Manila), and others do it by request.  Once your petition is sent to the embassy, you can request an extension.

So we all have our NOA2 approvals, now what? 😁   Your case will move on to NVC for case assignment. It takes 4-6 weeks from USICS to NVC and then another 2-3 weeks for case assignment.

I have read so much conflicting information on embassy closures, EOs, etc.  opinions And that just added to the confusion because it's all opinions as there is no official guidelines except for the three-phase opening. Nothing more.

Does anyone here have a good pulse on the situation?  Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo has a good pulse on how things will operate. Unfortunately, he is going to move slowly as not to put his embassy staffs in harm's way causing you to have additional angst.

Are NVC approvals moving forward?  If you read the different threads you would understand that NVC is still operating with case number assignments, but at a much slower pace. Move out from your comfort zone and read the threads for additional help, tips, and such. Did you know that there is a PDF file link in the first post on the first page of this thread that gives you information that will help you transition through NVC and onto your embassy?

Will Embassy's begin processing K1 approvals when they re-open?  Really?

What happens if your NOA 2 expires? That question has been answered a thousand times throughout the different monthly threads. You're doing yourself an injustice by not expanding your knowledge horizons. A NOA2 has a one-year expiration where you must repeat the process if it expires. Within the NOA2 there are increments of four months that the interview should be completed. Embassies are responsible for the extension of those deadlines. Most will take a new letter of intent at the interview but we must now wait and see how they will be handled once the embassies open and begin to address this issue, and they will.

With some research all of your questions have been addressed. By staying locked into one thread you miss the education of what others provide. Reach out to the other threads for updated topics and discussions. Good luck and stay engaged.

I think yes, nobody knows when the embassies will open and how they will proceed.

They have a long backlog and we are not the first in the waiting line.

It's frustrating... we all miss our partners and sit on packed suitcases.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

@Greenbaum or anyone else who can answer this and forgive my ignorance if this as been covered numerous times (I'm sure it has) Though I read all over this site and follow every link posted and have downloaded the PDF's and followed links there in as well. Buuuuut

After NOA2, the Petition is then transferred to the NVC. What notification comes next?

(I've already emailed the NVC and received the same generic response as everyone else i.e. "we have not received your case" / "4-6 weeks" etc....)

Download the PDF from the first page and you will see the steps and what takes place. Yes, that question has been asked a million times hence the reason I authored the PDF file to save you time. Once the file is sent to the embassy that is when you will receive your next notice. Get the PDF and become a student of it as it will ease your mind and it walks through every step.

Congratulations to all who were approved. This is encouraging news for those of us still early in the process. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thanks for your post.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
