There isn't a reason for not completing the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. Go ahead and complete and be sure to print off the confirmation page (with barcode) for your interview.

BTW, who told you to wait? Curious.

It was the operator when I called.
Anyway, I'll go ahead and complete the DS-160 for now. Thanks.

The process is the same for many years. Once you receive the NOA2 your record goes to NVC. NVC assigns a case number then it is shipped on the schedule shipping date to the embassies. Since embassies are now just starting to open their doors once again, your file should move. NO ONE with any certainty can tell you when that will happen.

I discuss many of these points and what to do in the PDF on the first page of this thread. Please get a copy and go through the different help points. I'm sure it will answer many of your questions.

When you join a thread it's always prudent for you to read the thread from the beginning to see what others are discussing what answers they have received. With that education you will be better equipped to migrate through the visa process. Good luck and stay engaged.

Thank you!!

Others have reported the same. If you have completed the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and have a confirmation page with a bar code then ignore the "Summary Information" that you saw. All things are fine for you to proceed when the next steps are available to you to complete.

Best place to find that answer is the sub-forum for the UK. Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about 3/4 of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.

@Greenbaum as always your help is valuable, can you please de-code something?

TODAY! Our status at the NVC has changed to "Pay Fees", However, when following the directions, it starts talking about DS260...very confusing!

I have looked through older forums (2015, 2017) and some comments mention that we should look at the embassy/consulate site. I can't seem to find anything.  I am obviously missing something can you help?  Thank you.

You may get an e-mail that requests that you send documents or pay fees to NVC, and they will schedule your interview, which is a pad script sent out to "immigrant" visa applicants. Still, since the K-1is treated as an "immigrant" during this process, you'll sometimes get notifications like this. Just ignore them. You do everything with the Embassy once you are approved from USCIS with a NOA2. Nothing with NVC either. Ignore what NVC is requesting it for CR-1/IR-1 applicants. As a K-1 you will complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and not the DS-260 Immigrant Visa Electronic Application.

Hi,

I received an email today from the NVC stating my K1 petition is being sent to the Jamaican Embassy. It's shows "in transit" on the website. 😊🤞🏻

How do you pay for the MRV interview Fee?  Can that be done online?

Depends on the country. Some only take cash and at certain financial institutions.

Hi everyone, we were disappointed to see today that our case remains at the NVC despite Georgia now accepting K1 visas for processing. I called the NVC and the rep said they are waiting for the embassy in Georgia to “request the documents” before they will send.

Does anybody have a recommendation for what we can do? We don’t want our case to keep getting delayed, as you can imagine it’s quite disheartening.

There is NOTHING you can do. Let the process flow as designed.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

Well, I personally have a copy of the PDF that is on the first page pinned in the first post and it clearly tells you what to do. It states to ask Greenbaum for a copy of the P3 letter from your embassy. You'll find the instructions there. Oy Vey! It boggles my mind how many times I say "Get the PDF" for all the answers at this stage. Mmmmm your frustrated with your wait I am frustrated that you haven't found the PDF to answer your questions. Sorry.... I just had to say that.... Now I feel better until the next _ _ _ _ ask a question that is answered in the PDF.
