I have a curiosity. Does USCIS looks and read trough every single page that we submit in our petition?

Also at the interview, the officer will look trough our petition, before the interview, or they’ll know only the basics?
I was reading some people saying that the officer already made up his mind if to approve or denied someone. Is that true ? 🤔

Yes, someone will look at everything. Some submitted items they keep others are destroyed if not needed to properly adjudicate your application. The CO has already studied you case. They are trained to quickly go through items and vet what is needed to complete their decision. They are given 5 min to interview you. If all is fine, then she/he will approve you. If somewhere a RED flag was raised either at USCIS with background checks, application information or what not then it's the CO's duty to speak face to face to determine and answer the red flags. So, yes, their minds are made up before they interview you.

Wow, this is fascinating the way this process works. Thank you for answering me 😉

Received an email today from NVC with the invoice number and the case number. Guessing now we sit back and wait for the embassies to begin accepting documents from NVC? Is there any further information on if anything is moving forward on this front?

Same question, what next after received invoice number and the case number?

Hello everyone

Another update for all of you. Maybe Greenbaum already knows this.

If you go to this link - https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ - this will have all the information related to each US Embassy/Consulate. If you click on your region and country, you will know the status of the embassy/consulate, when they are opening and what visas they are processing. I already shared the one from NZ.

Thanks for sharing the link! However, France is not listed (checked the Europe section)?!... How is this possible?...Any idea?

I can only assume that this is voluntary for each embassy to supply their information. If they chose not to then you will find the ustraveldocs website void of an entry for a embassy.

Quick questions as we start to prepare the Affidavit of Support to have it ready...for whenever it's needed.

I left my job back in March and am wanting some guidance on whether assets/savings are viewed as acceptable as support or is it less desirable when viewed by consular officers? Will provide my tax filings etc which more than meet the minimum income/assets available requirement but would it be beneficial to have a co-sponsor for my fiancé too? Just wanting to ensure that all bases are more than covered for whenever interviews are resuming.

Also, could I ask for a copy of the London-England P3 sample letter? Can't seem to locate it (likely not looking in the right place!)

Thanks in advance

Everything for the interview is on USEM's website.

Additional information can be found here:

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/index.html?firstTime=No

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Will provide my tax filings etc which more than meet the minimum income/assets available requirement but would it be beneficial to have a co-sponsor for my fiancé too? If you do not have a job, then your fiancé will be a public charge and your visa will not be issued. Assests and savings need to be 5X the poverty level or you'll need a cosponsor.

Just wanting to ensure that all bases are more than covered for whenever interviews are resuming.

Also, could I ask for a copy of the London-England P3 sample letter? See below 2.

Can't seem to locate it (likely not looking in the right place!) Looking on the embassy website would be a good starting place to determine what is needed to pass a interview with a UK CO, but here are the links.

Thanks in advance

1. The law (Foreign Affairs Manual) states only that the interviewing officer must be convinced that the K visa applicate won't become a public charge. It doesn't mandate an amount, or how it must be proven. Each consulate has their own local vibe of how easily the officers are convinced. Most will refer to the chart for poverty levels. What is acceptable in London may not convince an officer in Manila or Sydney. London will approve with no tax return. They will approve with no I-134 at all from the fiancé if they line up another suitable sponsor. And they will approve with no sponsor/I-134 if the immigrant has a considerable amount of assets.  It would be best to seek out people in your regional forum to see what is required at your specific consulate because it is subjective.

Hey y’all. I had my SO fill out the DS-160 since we finally got a case number. If I’m correct, the next thing he needs to do is pay the visa appt. fee in order to schedule an appointment, correct? Is that okay to do now, even though our case is still at the NVC
