One year later! I received an email from NVC a few days ago that my case has been shipped to the embassy!!! It feels surreal!

Is anyone else still waiting? We've been stuck at NVC well over a year now. K1 was a huge mistake.

You’re not alone unfortunately :( still waiting at NVC for over a year, two years since we first applied. Hired two different lawyers, no help. Petitioned for emergency appointment due to severe emotional stress, denied. Petitioned to move case to another country’s embassy and they said they had no capacity. We don’t know what to do from here, am going to have to quit my job and move out of the US just to start my family.

Met my fiancé in 2016. Saw each other regularly before the plandemic. She gave me the courage to divorce my cheating, abusive,  sociopathic wife. Took until January 2020 to finally get the decree. Filed immediately. With all the stress about finances, being apart etc suffered a heart attack and had open heart surgery. Yes, still waiting! Haven't been together for 19 months. Lately my angina has returned. I'll likely die before I see her again.😢

I’m so sorry to hear this. Have you tried applying for an expedited appointment? For medical emergencies you can petition for expedited processing and as you describe it certainly sounds like you guys can qualify or have a strong case.

Has anyone from this batch heard anything new regarding their application? A year and half now (not including NOA1) and still nothing :(

Thanks,

We are still waiting. The Philippines is the biggest joke in the world. Incompetent leaders and organizations with nothing but BS restrictions, guidelines, quarantines and lockdowns have kept the embassy from operating at full capacity.

Even now with an average of 400-500 cases per day and they are still not opening the borders. Kids just barely allowed to go malls and restaurants. But not much in the way of opening schools.

Just pathetic.

Hi all, of you are waiting for visa processing in EU we have some advice (although not a lawyer, this is just what worked for us). After > two years waiting we fired a new law firm that advised us to ask our case processing to be transferred to Poland where clients had success in resolution to delayed visa process. Almost immediately after switching our case from Georgia to Poland (we received new case number) the embassy in Warsaw requested our case and we were able to sign up for an appointment yesterday. It did cost more money to have to travel to Poland twice for medical exam and interview but ultimately it was successful. Again, this is just what worked for us but if you are still waiting in EU for processing, transferring your case to Poland could be a good option.

Well, after more than two years after filing for k1 and receiving NOA1, we finally have an interview date set.  Never thought this day would come. So much stress and frustration these past few years.

Hey all. I finally received the email from NVC saying that they've sent our packet to the Manila embassy. It also says they'll contact my fiancee when they're ready. How do they contact? Mail, email? How long should we expect until then? Any other tips and pointers? Thank youuuuuuuuuu

Watch CEAC status to show READY status.  Don't expect anything from the embassy.  If they do contact your fiancee it will be by the email of record, but don't hold your breath

The process is the same as listed on my website with small variations; >SLEC does medicals by appt only right now, CFO is only online  ...    Few links are dead sadly, but I will get that updated

Once status shows READY, 1) pay your visa fee 2) create your profile (wait 24 hrs after paying visa fee, not counting weekends, before scheduling interview),  3) gather required documents (hopefully you started this already), 4) complete medical, 5) attend interview, 6) after receiving the visa then complete CFO online

The link the you got from NVC is the same one the embassy has posted.   Other links I've tried are dead ...

Here is a link from the embassy  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#9
