Congratulations!!  Hope you are celebrating!  Our embassy is also London, UK.

Shall be doing this weekend for sure! Hope all is progressing well with yours. Unfortunate about the extended and unknown wait with embassy appointments etc but it shall all be right in the end!

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

So I followed the instructions in the PDF from page one regarding updating email addresses with NVC

They responded by saying they don't have a record of receiving the petition. Is this am automated response?

I wasnt asking for the case number, only to update contact info. Did they not read my submission?

It might be too early. I waited 3 weeks to update my email with NVC and I received this response below.

Okay... so gar so bad. Is there in any country an embassy open and working on K1?

Does anyone has or had an interview?

I am just curious.

The only interviews that are going forward are for expedited or emergency visas. ALL embassies are not doing standard, run of the mill visas. No one can say with any certainty when they will reopen. Best place for you is camped out on your embassy's website for further instructions when they do open.

Ah ok. I wasn't aware they needed to have received my case yet. The instructions make it sound like I needed to have nvc update as soon as possible.

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing and got the same response

Thanks for your observation and reporting that you had some problems with the PDF instructions with your experience. I updated the PDF to reflect a more factual statement of when to complete this step.

Did the updated PDF get uploaded? The link on the first page is still pointing to the old one. Unless I'm not seeing the change. The date is still 6/16.

So how I can get an emergency appointment for my interview,  what can be a reason?

Did it ever cross your mind to try using Google to search for the answers to your questions? Sometimes you must do the heavy lifting. But here is what you are asking for.

Anyone can ask for their case to be expedited but must follow certain criteria. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria  If accepted or denied neither have an impact on any other process toward a visa.

  1. For USCIS refer to https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-information/how-make-expedite-request
  2. For NVC they expedite K-1 visas already.
  3. For Embassies, An expedited request requires you to contact them either through email or a phone call. Most embassy don't grant expedited visas but only in the case of an emergency. Check with your embassy for additional details.

Chapter 5 - Requests to Expedite Applications or Petitions

Benefit requestors may request USCIS to expedite the adjudication of their applications or petitions. USCIS considers all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis and generally requires documentation to support such requests. The decision to grant or deny an expedite request is within the sole discretion of USCIS.

Sometimes it takes a few days to update. Don't know why but that has been the case for the last few months. This is the correction made.

1.     How do I update my e-mail address with NVC

Once you receive your NOA2 approval and your file is at NVC (usual transfer time is 30 days), then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your e-mail address as well as your beneficiary's e-mail address. Updating your e-mail will give you an e-mail alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case number is assigned, and when the case record leaves for your Embassy.
