Hello guys! So just called NVC and they don't have our case number yet. But I know that could take up to 6 weeks these days so just patiently waiting.

So anyway, there is an onboarding for a case to go up in Manila. We were thinking of joining but I found out that Filipinos from Round 2 of Milligan v. Pompeo are still waiting on their interview schedule and they can't apparently get one yet because lockdowns (of different variations) are imposed in Manila again and the US Embassy is still not processing. So if this is the case, I wonder if it's still worth joining. Thoughts, anyone?

Tagging @Adventine and  @Greenbaum

Thank you for the inputs!

Hiya, I heard about it and I sympathize with everyone affected by the Embassy closure.

I discussed this at length with my fiancé but we decided against it. We're not yet at the tipping point where we want to sue. Especially as I can travel to see him.

It's a very personal decision and there's no guarantee of success. You'll have to discuss with your fiancé if it's worth spending the money (a couple of thosand dollars to start, may grow bigger).

If you decide to join, good luck and may you get positive movement on your case soon.

Absolutely..... we have been discussing this since yesterday and odds are, we won't be joining. A lot of family and friends just said to wait things out as I can also just go there to see him, which I would probably be doing over the summer. Just wanted to explore options. For sure, joining would be a risk but there's really no telling when Manila would open or how soon they could process backlogs. Oh well.... But yeah, it all comes down to personal decisions and priorities. Thank you for weighing in, much appreciated! :)

Civil Surgeon (USCIS) doctor Medical examination

You have the option of doing it later if you want: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-4

Quote

Timing of the Submission of the Medical Examination Report

Applicants may submit the Form I-693 medical examination report to USCIS:

  • Concurrently with the immigration benefit application; or

  • At any time after filing the immigration benefit application but before USCIS finalizes adjudication of that application. If not submitted simultaneously with the immigration benefit application, applicants may bring the medical examination report to an interview or wait until USCIS issues an RFE requesting the medical examination report.

The courtesy notice they send out essentially says the same thing: "DO NOT MAIL DOCUMENTS AT THIS TIME."

Applying for: Adjustment of status ($1,140 + $80 biometric)(mail), I-30 ($535) online, Permit to work (mail), permit to travel (mail)

If Form I-130 is filed Online then you'll have to wait for the Receipt notice before filing the rest of the forms. The notice should say something like "Form I-797C, Notice of Action" in upper-right hand corner. After a few days look for it under "USCIS notices":

Remember to upload I-130A supplement to online I-130 application.

On the I-130, leave the following 3 fields completely blank:

That is to avoid the following issue:

Oh man, fellow June 2020ers!!! Finally after a year of trying to get the fiancé to visit, rescheduling tickets six times from cancellations, he’s been here in the United States for almost a month on a B2 visa. Struggling with deciding to continue down the K1 path or just to marry and adjust status from here. I know things are largely getting better in many places with the pandemic, or at least normalizing, but going another year just seems so hard to do.  I guess just venting to the only group that would largely understand

“At NVC” ... officially, Bogota just started resumed routine processing of immigrant & fiancé visas on March 1 after 12 months of closure. Our I-129F was approved 2/4/21

Was your Fiance able to get a B2 visa during the shut down at Bogota or has he had that visa all along?

He applied for it I think in November 2019 before people had really ever heard of COVID and received it in Jan/Feb 2020. Then everything shutdown in March.
