yes. B1/B2 visa. I've been here since December 7, 2020. I was given a year to stay. So, everything will be okay.. waiting time for Adjustment of Status 8wks to few months. I'm still good by then. My Fiancé is an active Air Force Officer, we're getting the legal assistance that we need. We didn't know what else to do since US embassy in Manila is indefinitely closed and alot of backlog cases that should still be processed. I wish you all the best.. There's alot more paperworks to file, but I'm fine with that. I'm married now and with my now Husband. I'm overwhelmingly happy.

Before getting married, we asked 2 immigration lawyers for their blessing. Hahaha, so the next day.. We went to court and signed the papers. Yahoooo!

I am so frustrated by this process! NOA1 received on 22 June 2020. We submitted a request to expedite I-129F in early September. Clear cut case. They were supposed to respond within 1 week. In mid-November we were finally informed in writing that our request to expedite had been approved and our case would be decided within 45 days (by the end of December). When this didn't happen, and we weren't receiving any useful information from the USCIS, we reached out to my fiance's Senator. Found out through the Senator that they'd lost our file/hadn't progressed it. We then promptly received a RFE...for evidence already provided!! We provided the evidence again, together with a Colorado court-certified statutory declaration that the evidence of previous divorce that we had originally provided is the only document the State of Colorado issues, and confirming its validity. It's been 2 weeks since they received our reply. Still no progress, although cases with NOA1s with August dates are already receiving their NOA2s. I get we need to have patience, but this really stinks. Our family continues to be separated due to what feels like bureaucratic incompetence! QUESTION: do you think it would make a difference to engage an immigration lawyer?

Just a note that Form I-944 is no longer needed: https://www.dhs.gov/news/2021/03/09/dhs-secretary-statement-2019-public-charge-rule "Today, the Department of Justice dismissed its pending appeals in the Supreme Court and Seventh Circuit, and is in the process of doing so in the Fourth Circuit. Following the Seventh Circuit dismissal this afternoon, the final judgment from the Northern District of Illinois, which vacated the 2019 public charge rule, went into effect. As a result, the 1999 interim field guidance on the public charge inadmissibility provision (i.e., the policy that was in place before the 2019 public charge rule) is now in effect."

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey everyone!
NOA1-june 15

NOA2-February 1

NVC Case number: FEB 17

No welcome package or instructions on what to do next. When I look it up online it still says on NVC. They say they are waiting for the embassy to accept the case because they are behind.
Is there a way to expedite this part of the the process?
help....

Hello guys! So just called NVC and they don't have our case number yet. But I know that could take up to 6 weeks these days so just patiently waiting.

So anyway, there is an onboarding for a case to go up in Manila. We were thinking of joining but I found out that Filipinos from Round 2 of Milligan v. Pompeo are still waiting on their interview schedule and they can't apparently get one yet because lockdowns (of different variations) are imposed in Manila again and the US Embassy is still not processing. So if this is the case, I wonder if it's still worth joining. Thoughts, anyone?

Tagging @Adventine and  @Greenbaum

Thank you for the inputs!
