What is the consequence of filing if they’re not yet? Would you be earlier in some queue if you did it as soon as possible? If we should wait until the consulate is processing, should we as petitioners take any action in the interim. I’m thinking like every four months or so submitting updated intent letters? Or am I overthinking it?

Well, it makes sense to fill it out when you know your interview date because your information can change over time (addresses, jobs, etc). Other than that, it doesn’t give you any advantage.

as far as I heard they automatically extend it once you have your interview and you bring renewed letters of intent.

That’s helpful, thank you. I was thinking you wouldn’t get an interview date without having filed the ds-160. I thought it was the visa application that triggered scheduling, not the receipt of the file.

No problem! You will need to fill it out once your case gets to the embassy and the case status will change to "Ready". Each embassy is different: some consulates schedule an interview themselves or you have to schedule it yourself. Before COVID you could have already filled out your ds-160 as soon as you got your case number from NVC because your case stays there for just a few days but these days I think it's better to wait until it gets to the consulate.

Its processing them, but I only got a NVC number they haven't stated they are sending over the documents just yet.

that's great that they are! Keep an eye on the case status on CEAC.state.gov and keep us posted.

Still no NOA2 for us, so we've submitted an outside processing time request. It's hard not to wonder what could possibly be holding up our approval, but I choose not to worry so much about things outside our control. We also choose to look at the positives: I'm visiting the US next month!

Us too! I've seen a number of July and August approvals too. I have also been monitoring the approvals via the tracker app and so far the trend is that applications caught in-between months or those at the beginning and tail-end of the months have the most delay in approvals, the ones in the middle always gets done first and this across months. I also wonder what could be holding the approvals.

It's so odd, but I can only theorize that they are working on the petitions in batches, and we're probably at the bottom of the pile / someone's work queue. Oh well!

At the very bottom for sure... the last time I updated my monitoring there were 32 applications in my range that are not yet reviewed. This morning there was 30. So I would say ours is at the bottom 10 😅 I would throw a fit if there's only 5 applications left and we don't have the NOA2 yet.

@Raychelle we'll be okay. Fortune favors the prepared... such as those who are motivated enough to track via spreadsheets ;)

😅🤣 the spreadsheets should do the trick..... oh by the way, you're going to the US next month right? would it be alright if I ask for updates? I'm planning to go  as well because it looks like foreign tourists are not going to be allowed here anytime soon

Yes, I am. Happy to help. I've posted some updates here, and other posters have chimed in with relevant feedback that might be useful: 2021 Travel: PH-US-PH - Philippines - VisaJourney

Joining here since our NOA1 was late May (05/26). No NOA2 which is frustrating. Submitted an inquiry for the first time at the end of January and contacted my Congressperson last week. Anyone else in a similar situation?

We submitted plenty of evidence (used to live together abroad) and my fiancé has never entered the U.S. so there's no issues with immigration history or anything else that could slow a case down.
