My husband and I are at the NVC stage, can anyone please help us with the questions listed below;

1. Is it necessary to upload child of beneficiary’s birth certificate although the child is not included on this affidavit of support?

2. Does the beneficiary need to go to medical examination / test before receiving the interview letter or after receiving the  letter?

 3. Better still, will the interview letter have instructions to go for medical examination / test?

4. Does the beneficiary need to upload educational certificates?

5. Does beneficiary need to upload proof of employment?

Thank you.

1) only if a child was immigrating

2) most countries won't allow a medical until the interview is booked.  A few allow it before.  I think Nigeria is the former

3) no

4) no

5) no

No you only need the marriage termination paperwork if you are divorced along with the current marriage certificate

I've been around here about 15 years and have never heard of a birth certificate for a non-immigrating child of a spouse visa applicant being required for their parent or step parent's immigration visa case at NVC.  Context is King here.  If this is the natural child of petitioner and beneficiary, then the birth certificate is excellent evidence of relationship to be included with the I-130 filing.  It is not required, unless specifically asked for in an RFE, but a great idea.  In this case, it is the child of the beneficiary, who is NOT immigrating.  If immigrating the child's BC would be uploaded as part of their own visa application.

It is very odd but so is everything about this process.

So please provide a link to back up your very odd assertion.

These people were ultimately denied. My point is the best answer should be to verify with NVC. Also, these embassies can ask for whatever they want. I saw a Pakistani case where the woman claimed she was asked for pictures of her previous marriage.

15 years experience is great however,  these rules change daily and one can no longer predict what documents will be required. These people were also asked why the child was not immigrating.
