May I ask why you sent the I-129f to Nebraska instead of Chicago?

Tracking the I-129F will be the same as tracking the I-130. When your check is cashed or you receive the NOA1, enter the WIC number into CRIS.

Well, it was what the I-129F form instruction says also my husband called to make sure about where we should send and that was the answer .. Nebraska ... it was hard to me to understand why but we are told to do so !!

I assume we are gonna have another case number or it will be the same just change the first 3 letters..

Everything is like a puzzle to me !

Thank You so much for your attention ... Good luck

It will be a completely different case number.

Did your husband tell them when he called that you were filing the 129F for the K3? The form instructions clearly say that for the K3, it goes to the chicago PO Box. They then forward it from there to CSC or VSC. That is how they know that the 129F is for K3 and not K1 without actually having to look at it at the CSC and VSC.

If you look for a Nebraska address, you'll find a Nebraska address.

If you read the instructions that come with the form, they tell you that FOR A SPOUSE or K3, you send the petition to Chicago. Check out the form instructions.

Enjoy Brazil but no, you cannot change route to DCF. DCF means direct consular filing. You've already filed your petitions with USCIS Service Centers in the US. To go the DCF route, you would have to withdraw both petitions and start from scratch. You would receive no refund for the fees you paid.

You don't have to do much... you're right, once they will forward it to CSC anyway, which is what they normally do. When CSC gets it, they will think its a K1 since it is a 129F from Nebraska. Once they open the packet and start work on it, it will become apparent that its a K3. It might slow down your processing, no way to know for sure.

I thought just like you that day I had a big question mark on my head but what could I do ?

If they open our pack they will see marriage certificate papers and the proper translation I hope someone can foward our case to the right Service Center.

I am very worried !!!!! What kind of action can we take now .. wait or try to solve it somehow ?

I really appreciate your help !

Regards from Brasil !

If you look for a Nebraska address, you'll find a Nebraska address.

If you read the instructions that come with the form, they tell you that FOR A SPOUSE or K3, you send the petition to Chicago. Check out the form instructions.

Ok Now we are gonna pay the price for a wrong information by phone or my husband mistake.

I am gonna wait to see what happen I think we always can change route to DCF since my husband live and work here for more than 6 months now.

I have to search which option we have !

Thank you very much !!

I am gonna relax !! It is a sunny morning in Brasil !!

Enjoy Brazil but no, you cannot change route to DCF. DCF means direct consular filing. You've already filed your petitions with USCIS Service Centers in the US. To go the DCF route, you would have to withdraw both petitions and start from scratch. You would receive no refund for the fees you paid.

Gosh ! No refunds !! My husband will not agree to change route after this information !!

Well I think i have nothing to do but wait to see when they will transfer my case to the right Service Center.

I am gonna ask him to call them as soon as possible. He has been so busy dealing with his project plus his residency process here, imagine 2 differents process to 2 different coutries at once !

Again thank you for you help and time !

Thanks Urge To Race. The fact that sending the I-129F to Nebraska would probably delay the processing was where my question was leading to.

Supernova, the paperwork can be confusing and the I-129F form is used for more than one purpose. My suggestion is to read the directions several times to understand them.

The Customer Service Representatives (CSR) should be trained to answer questions properly. I was given wrong information by a CSR once also. That is why some people on this forum refer to the USCIS 800 number as the misinformation line.

Hello Supernova. This statement from your link is easily overlooked:

Except as indicated above, (for forms processed at service centers (see the form instructions)).

I had to read the link slowly to understand the instructions. I hope this helps.
