change of address: impact on pending I-485?

I submitted my I-485 in August 2019, and my status has been pending scheduling of interview since December 2019. I have now changed my address, from NY to Virginia. I know that NY is famously very delayed. Now that my address is officially in Virginia, what is the impact on the timeline for my interview? Do I go to the end of the line in Virginia? Do I stay in line in NY? Do I get transferred somewhere halfway the VA line? Does anybody know?

Thank you

I-485 is processed locally so your case will be finalized in Virginia. There will be indeed delay due to the transfering process.

05/05/2015: Oath letter was sent

05/22/2015: Oath Ceremony

I have been thinking about similar questions, but my guess is you will be at the end of the line in VA; that is the worse case scenario.

- Feb 22 2020 - Mailed Application (I-130, I-845....) to Chicago

- April 22 2020 - NOA 1

- June 1 2020 - RFE for I-944

- June 24 2020 - Replied to RFE

- Oct 25 2020 - Fingerprint done

- Nov 9 2020 - Case ready to be scheduled for interview
