Hi all,

I'm ready to send off the AOS package. However, I just realised there are two different addresses based on who you are sending via. USPS is closed now, so planning to send via UPS in an hour or so.

I've written the USPS office on all the documents :( Does that matter?

Thanks!

I could wait until tomo morning if it's going to be an issue, but was looking forward to having the weight off my shoulders tonight!

Well the instructions are clear. Follow them if you want everything go smooth and not fail already in the beginning 😊

Either a new envelope with the correct address or wait till tomorrow.

You really should do things the right way. Either change the address on everything or wait until tomorrow in my opinion. Another day won’t kill you. But you will want to kick yourself if you get it rejected.

Which documents are you referring to when you say you have written USPS address.

I have used both addresses, and personally Fedex / UPS might be little expensive, but it’ll save you from stress that USPS gives. Mine was delivered but they didn’t update status on tracking until 2 days after. I’ve read others complaining same and even package getting lost with USPS.

just to be clear, the documents I'm referring to are the contents pages where I've put the USPS address.

Of course, If I filed via the other companies, I would use the relevant mailing address. But does it matter if the documents say the USPS address?

I might just wait until tomorrow :( it doesn't make a huge difference. I've just been up until 2am every night trying to get this done and wanted to celebrate with a nice dinner tonight! I guess ill just wait the few extra hours until the am

There's no requirement that cover letters for USCIS form submissions be in "business letter" format and include addresses, it's just that most online examples are written that way.

Oh ok. Sorry for getting that wrong and kinda ruin your evening plans 😕. No it doesn't matter what address you have written on the cover letters as long as the one on the outside is correct.

It's fine! I was wanting to do one last check through of everything and that I had a perfect replica copy for my own records, which I was rushing to do. So I had time to relax and do it properly. I'll be sending off at 9am! :) thanks for your help!

Also, how do you recommend placing the applications in the envelope, as I am filing. I-485, I-765 and I-131 together. Should I just place them one after the other in the envelope, or should I include some kind of divider, e.g. coloured card? should I have a front page saying that all 3 applications are in there?

Nobody is going to grade you on the cover letter. The contractors will open your package, organize the papers how they want them, and probably throw out the cover letter. You don’t even need a cover letter, so don’t worry about the address on it.

I sent mine with  big paper clips on the small ones and a bulldog clip on the larger one. USPS Priority Mail was efficient for me.

Also, when we sent our package we clipped each form with butterfly clips and no, we didn't separate them with colored papers. We included a cover letter for each, but that's not a requirement.
